Gentlemen,
I'm a long time Mopar person starting with a 1965 Valiant Signet with a 225 slant 6 which I built up using Hiper Pak stuff. It was an auto, hd suspension stuff. Ran VERY well...surprised a few Camero's and Mustangs.
Next, i had 1967 Belevedere II, with first year production LA 318....originally with 2 bbl carb, auto trans, hd suspension. Soon i added a 273 hp intake and Carter 3855S carb and 273 solid lifter cam, rockers, and springs, formula S exhaust. Had 3.55 gears.....a real street terror.....handed Chevy 327's and Ford 289 hipo's with ease. Later, i changed to the 340 std trans cam, heads, intake manifold and Carter AVS carb rejetted for the application. Ran a 273hp Prestolite dual point distributor decurved for best mid range torque. No decals on the car so no one knew engine performance capabilities.
Marriage, life and rigors of the job got in the way for many years......
I presently have 1970 GTX...an original RS23V0A****** car Torred color, 4 speed (one of 350 ever made), 6 barrel car, N96 air grabber, A34 Super track pack, max cool rad, Dana 4.10:1 gears, PS, PDB, black vinal top, Rally wheels. I rebuilt the engine 0.030" over, TRW 11.0 forged pistons (running .003"-.004" clearance with chrome moly rings), high VOLUME oil pump using full groove Clevite main and rod bearings at 0.002 cclearance and ARP bolts holding it together. The cam is a Crane equivalent to the Mopar 292 drgree 0.509 lift purple shaft with Crane roller rockers. And 906 heads ported. I use an original Prestolite dual point distributor with a special advance curve. (No MSD stuff). The engine is balanced. I've had it dyno'd @ 545 hp @ 6100rpm. I use Mobil One 10W-30 oil with 75 psi (hot) at 3000 rpm.
I have BS Electrical engineering degree with a Master's in Business administration and have traveled the world building plants and installing capital machinery for the companies I worked for. I'm presently retired but I'm open for new opportunities....
Anyway.....i welcome comments, questions, or criticisms...
Bob Renton

Beautiful. Picked me right out of my chair and threw me back in time, right into the seat of my old Roadrunner.

Welcome neighbor I'm from Buffalo, Illinois just down the road from you. That's one beautiful car

Welcome Bob. FABO is an interesting place to visit, lots of smiles, lots of great advise, and MOPAR junkies who have forgotten more than I ever knew.
