About the band lever. I have never had a problem with a 3.8 lever with 2 springs in the front accumulator and 12 springs in the front clutch assy. If you have a solid front band you can usually get away with a 4.2 lever but IMO with a stock VB the 1-2 shift isn't hardly any different between the 3.8 and 4.2 lever so why chance having overlap on the 2-3 shift
