Congrats to the US women on winning the Hockey gold medal.

Canada should get the mens side.
 
i wonder if they will ever drop the gloves and pull a sweater over their opponents head?
 
Uh.... I play with several women that can kick my *** in hockey! And I play 4x per week and grew up playing in MN.
Those Olympic girls are freakin good! By anyones standards....
 
That was an awesome game! I was surprised by the outcome, given how sloppy the US was with the puck all game long. Staying out of the penalty box (for the most part) really helped them.

On a side note, how was the hit on Decker (I think it was) not a penalty towards the end of regulation? Was it just a missed call, or was it actually not a penalty? I just don't know enough about hockey rules. Either way, that could've cost them big time.

Should have been a penalty for a blow to the head. Clocked her with a chicken wing.

Canada was the better team regarding stick/puck handling skills. US power play was a joke.

The US was atrocious when in their own end with sissy chips along the boards that were constantly intercepted by Canada. Miles of clear ice and making soft passes to players up the board that are basically marked... STUPID. Carry the damn puck up to get the D moving and find a lane beyod your own blue line. Jeez.

Watched till the end of the 2nd period. Fell asleep dammit. Good game, Canada had their quality chances but the US women had sustained puck control in Canada end.
Great rivalry. Glad I missed the Canadian girl taking off her medal....wtf?? Suck it up straighten your skirt and deal with it.
Congrats US, well deserved.
Win or lose shootouts suck...
There are a couple of local guys playing hockey for South Korea. Not sure where they are in the standings?

I must have been watching a different game as I thought the US had better and longer puck possession than Canada basically the whole game. Canada gave a BUNCH of turnovers that hurt us.

Congrats to the US girls!...played great!
 
I read where the young lady that had the melt down at the medal ceremony issued a complete and sincere apology. I know that our neighbors to the north take their hockey VERY seriously, and I don't feel like she meant it to be disrespectful....she was just very disappointed. I read her apology, and could tell she meant it. :thumbsup: :canada:
 
The Germans had the game with 2:11 left and a power play.

Just play keep away in the Russian zone, which they were doing well. They pop off two shots, both blocked and Russians score a shorty pulling their goalie.
 
Nazi goalie sure looked shaky the last 2. Good game tho!
