Yep mine does the same .I have to pull up inside the scoop to get it over the cowl. My solution is to use a hood bumper and a nutsert right above the wiper motor.

That’s too funny. I did the same!
That’s one of the things that helped...
But when it sits in the sun, it gets soft and gets flexible... Then hits again... ‍
