Most any warranty is a ripoff. The mfgrs have done the testing and refining to know their product will last to just past the warranty period, be it 2 years, 5 years, whatever. Sheds light on why extended warranties are so expense too.
A run hour clock or odometer based warranty would make much more sense on something of limited seasonal use like lawn mower, snow blower, etc...
