Trick Flow SBM Heads

I think @1971 CY Dodge Dart meant to just take some X heads off and put the trick flows on. I totally agree that there are a lot of other factors. So how about this. If I took my mildly modified 340 with a Comp Cams XE268 cam kit, headers, Edelbrock Air Gap and 750 CFM Edelbrock cab that is right at 375 HP and put those heads on it, what would be the approximate HP pickup. If it was 5-10 HP, I would not buy them. Has anybody done a test where they took an engine like mine and ran 3 dyno tests? One as is, one with Edelbrock heads OOTB and one with Trick Flows OOTB. That would be interesting.

If the X heads were stock they prob flowed 225cfm [email protected]" being generous..so with your XE268 (COMP Cams Xtreme Energy Camshafts 20-223-3) you'd be lucky to get 220 if that less the Eddy Air Gap restriction but lets say 220cfm. So you go and bolt on some TF190's, they flow approx 3cfm per .010 thou of lift quoted from TF's figures from .400>.500", [email protected]"= approx 22cfm gain from .400>.477 so its 270cfm (1.7/8" pipe) which = a 50cfm gain at your max lift over the X's. You can now theorize how much +hp that will make with that bottom end combo and tune. An Eddy heads flow ootb is not much better than a good stock head.
