Best Swap Transmission?

Good morning to all,
I am gathering parts to swap a 2012 5.7 Ram Hemi into my 1970 C-body Fury.I am here asking this question because far and away this forum has the most activity of any forum.I am asking those who have direct experience with an automatic transmission in their car.First, I am not going to put a GM or Silverstar transmission in my car, period. The 4 choices I have come up with are:
1- the 904 in the car built for 450HP with a Gear-Vendors OD unit
2- a NAG-1 5 speed from a car (police version has column shift)
3- a 46RH from a 2wd pre OBD2 truck (46RE also depending on control options)
4- my first choice...A 8hp70 2014 and up from a car
I am not afraid of the electronic transmissions as Sound German has them solved, just expensive. The 904 w/ GV is probably the easiest and cheapest with no body mods needed.
This is strictly about how well each transmission operates/drives...not fitment. The Fury is a cruiser...mostly secondary roads, very little interstate driving.
Any and all opinions from people with hands on experience is much appreciated! Thanks
Sounds like you need to make some decisions on your end goal for the car before you make a decision on a transmission. If you won't ever take it on the interstate, then why do you even need an overdrive transmission. You also need to decide on your budget. 904 will be the cheapest, but maybe not the easiest. You will also have to figure out how to handle the kickdown linkage. If you are going to use a factory ECM, why not use one that will control the electronic trans also? If you choose to use the 8 speed, I believe you have to use the factory shifter from whatever it came out of. That can be a big turnoff for some.
