Slant 6 & A833

- I will have to turn down the input shaft on the trans to fit my small pocket crankshaft right?
- Is the trans mount in the same location?
- Will my trans tunnel fit this or need cutting?
- Does the 80's D100 trans have a shifter pad that could even work with my sedan & bench set up or will it take a lot of moding?
- Does anyone no whether the output shaft is a slip yoke or...?
-No. The input shaft remains the same. It's the pocket in the crankshaft flange that needs to be modded for later automatic modifications. The input is sometimes shortened to fit crankshafts that are not drilled for a pilot bearing, and then use the late model roller style pilot bearing that seats in the convertor hub of the crank. However, this bearing will not fit in your early style crank without machining the flange.
BTW; I believe the centering register on your crank is too small for the late model flywheel.
-Trans mount is in the same place. However, the shifter mount is in the wrong location for an A body- it places the shifter right where your crossmember is. The tailshaft is also the longer B/C/E/truck length and not the shorter A/F
-You will need to cut your floor and install a four speed hump.
-The output of the truck trans. is a slip yoke. Your trans/driveshaft is a ball and trunnion (flange) type.

There are many other differences, including clutch linkages, speedometer drives, etc. It can be done; but all in all, you'll probably be better off finding an A/F body setup. Much fewer changes to make it work.
