Solid lifers now? hole in them ? where

I tried the Crower Cam Saver lifters in the 400 In my 75 Ford F250 and was very disappointed. Of course they were hydraulic, which is sorta apples and oranges here....and sorta not. They broke in on the camshaft just fine. No problems with the lobes or lifter faces. The problem was when the engine warmed up, it sounded like it had a solid cam. Every single lifter ticked and loud. So I snatched um out and put in a set of stock Melling lifters, did another break in and it's been fine for over a year. So I don't think I'll mess with any type of lobe oiling lifter again.
