LKQ back on with their BS...

I went to a yard in Calgary back in the fall looking for a few different things. I stumbled upon a pair of Pontiac rally wheels and immediately pulled them off. The tires were absolute junk, sure, they had tread on them, but the dates were 20 years old and the sidewalls were literally crumbling off. When I got to the cashier, she insisted that I had to pay for the tires, $40.00 EACH! I said I didn't want or need the tires, and that they were clearly unsafe, even pointed out the date codes. Nope, gotta pay for the tires, but they would give me a "credit" if I had them removed, at my expense of course, and brought them back within 48 hours. Uh, hell no, I live over 2 hours away, and I'm not going to pay someone for removing garbage tires when I can do it myself at home. I even spoke with a supervisor, showed her the date code and condition of the tires, still no way.
Went to another yard on the other side of the city, same ownership, and they clearly stated that if I found rims that I wanted, they would not charge me for the tires if they were not usable.
I explained what I had gone through with the other location and they were shocked, adamant that I should not have been expected to pay for garbage tires.
Great that there's consistency in the management of that place.
