Inferno Red 74 Duster!

Wow, I have not sent an update since May of 2020! Let's see, where do I start?

I hit a deer a couple years ago and that resulted in a new hood, DS fender, grille and lots of paint touch ups. I had a great experience dealing with Hagerty insurance on this claim and the car is in way better shape than it was before the accident. While it was in the shop, I had a Go-wing and a correct factory dual snorkel scoop installed. I love both of those additions.

I spun a rod bearing on the 360 in my Duster in the spring of 2021, so I dragged an old stock 78 318 long block out of the corner of the shop and called it up to duty. I did put a cheap Summit cam and an Edelbrock Performer 318/360 intake on it first! It was actually way better than I expected, and it powered the car for probably 10,000kms before it just got played out. It was down to 100psi of compression and almost a full second slower in the ΒΌ mile.

So over this winter, I put together a stock bottom end 360 Magnum with a Comp XR274HR-10 cam, Speedmaster CNC ported aluminum heads and an Edelbrock Torker 2 intake. It will be topped with a Quickfuel 750 DP carb. It is currently on the run stand and sounds great. I am really looking forward to getting it in the car.

Other than that, I just recently replaced the door panels with new ones from Legendary, and a new Carpet from ACC. I will redo my console top to get rid of the ash tray hole and incorporate cup holders. Also I am finally getting to recovering the front seats. They now look terrible. They are filthy and the driver's side is ripped on the side bolster. I removed them to install the carpet and I'll do something with them before I reinstall them. The plan currently is to reupholster them myself but we will see how that goes. I want to have them match the rear seat as much as possible.

I started a YouTube channel a couple years back and I document a lot of what I do there. It is fun, and I have met lots of folks there too. I will try and keep this page better updated as i feel this is an important way of recording the history of this project. Even though the first several pages have the pictures messed up, I still like to go through it now and then to see how far it has come. Thanks for following along, and check out my YouTube sometime. The FABO experience has been so very important in the build of my car and other subsequent projects too!
