Anyone Run a Crane Z-268-2 Cam in their 318?

I'm freshening up a 1974 low comp 318 with a quick hone, new plasma moly rings and new bearings. I done some home bowl porting & port matched the 675 heads with larger 1.88 / 1.60 valves. SCR will be around 8.5:1 with Mr Gasket 1121G (0.028") head gaskets. Using a port matched Performer intake, 650cfm AVS2 carb, Prestolite dual point distributor, and 1-5/8" Dougs headers. It'll be going into a 67 fastback, 4-speed Barracuda, with an 8-3/4" 3.23 geared rear. I just want it to sound cool, turn the wheels and run nice on the street.

I have a new Crane Cams Z-268-2 flat tappet hydraulic stick that I was thinking of using, has anyone run one of these in a similar combo with good or bad results?

CRANE Z-268-2

That’ll have a mostly smooth idle and make OK decent power. I ran a very similar Crane cam in a stock long block ‘79 - 318, 904,w/3.21 gears, hooker headers into a Jegs dual exhaust, LD4B and a 600 Holley. With regular stock sized tires it could get into the high 14’s easy enough. Traction was an issue.

You should be able to pull down 17 mpg’s or slightly better and better than I did in the 1/4.
