Moparfest 2023

Pretty modest compared to US shows eh Mike?
Actually, having gone to both last year, I'd take Moparfest over the Mopar Nationals in Columbus! There are some really big shows back East, but in the Pacific Northwest where I live the BIG Mopar shows are really cookin' when they break 300 cars - Northwest Mopar Nationals at Woodburn Dragstrip in Oregon, Sunbust just outside Tacoma WA. We've lost some great Mopar shows in the last 5 years. One of my favorites is always Mopar Madness in BC!

Carlisle is just in a class all by itself. They had 3250 cars in the showfield last year and if you were looking for something you couldn't get through the swap meet in an 8 hour day. Classes are broken waaay down - I was in 70-72 A-body Hardtops (Demons have their own class) and there were still 18 cars in the class. The list of classes is 9 pages long. Coolest thing is that they always have a bunch of the Stock, Superstock and Prostock racers from the 60s, 70s, 80s often with restored as raced cars. They have workshops and the racers and builders tell about the old days which can be interesting since the statute of limitations is way past. I've seen nearly all of my heros from the 60s and 70s as I was growing up. Herb McCandless always has a great technical workshop, and he'll answer questions until they drag him off the stage.
