We bought some throw rugs with a rubber backing at a local “cheap” store…. Whatever we needed to do, we did. Keep those rugs for later on in their life when their paws don’t have the traction to help get them up off the floor.
We were "this close" to doing the exact same thing, but fortunately we were able to cover the floors with all of the leftover scraps and remnants. Or a good portion of it, anyway...
But I have to admit that neither of us have given any consideration to what the floors will be like for our dogs once they get-on a bit in years, so I'll bring this up with my wife this evening.
