Post your 12 second small block combos

1968 340, std bore, bought disassembled for $350 in 1989. No measuring anything. Bought stock rings, stock bearings, HV oil pump and reassembled. Had the windage tray, and I installed the Comp High Energy 268H (218°@.050, .454 lift) cam and lifters, plus the Comp 901-16 springs and new tock unbrella valve seals. Ran a '71 Thermoquad intake and carb (swap meet) and 1 5/8 Hedman headers. Used the Jacobs Energy Team ignition. Car was a '74 Barracuda with 3.23s and a 4sp. Ran the Centerforce II pressure plate and stock reman disk. It absolutely ate the disks but I worked at a parts store so it was warranty...lol. With 2 1/4" exh and Thrush "Sonic Turbo" mufflers it would go 13.2s @103. I beat the tar out of it. Never had a lick of trouble until i pinged it to death on some nice old lady's lawnmower fuel because I ran out in a valley in the middle of nowhere. I cracked some ring lands off the pistons...lol. It revved at least twice to 7Kplus, and routinely went to 6500. It went for miles at 6K (150mph indicated) at least 3 times a week on the way home from tech school. I'm sure that engine would run an A body deep in the 12s. With the 175hp plate it would run 12.50s with tire spin.

You are only talking 3.31 stroke so I'll leave the 360s out of it...lol.
