Edit..
Went through and read this old thread from the start. Stupid me, I didn’t take my own advice.
I swapped to better heads, and saw only modest gains, keeping my 1 5/8 Doug’s headers.
I later bought a set of American racing headers, because I suspected they would pick the car up quite a bit...
Pismo Beach OHV Park, very popular with the dunes buggyers and those peoples that like extracting clams from the beach  Pismo in the language of the indigenous Chumash tribe means TAR. They picked it up off the ground and out of their springs and used it for many things. 2 1/2 M...
Our's is $4.19 I see. That's what I run in the lawn mowers. I usually run 91 in my old cars with no issues. I have run some E10 in them but I drive them pretty easy when I do.
I just posted my personal results and the gains I saw on a small block stroker. Have to disagree with you, his car will love the 1 7/8 header a lot more than 10 horsepower. I saw nearly 40 horse gain with doing nothing but switching headers.
I documented it well on here with timeslips.
Those...
I'd change them. I'm running the same 1 7/8" Hedmans on my 434 that I ran on my 408. They have 3 1/2" collectors and 3" exhaust to turn downs at the axle. My 408 didn't want for low end, 4.10 gears.
My sister had a 71 Pinto with a 4 speed, got rear ended twice in it, but it never exploded. The shifter pulled right out of the transmission though! Otherwise it was a pretty decent car, she liked it.
Man this year is flying by so fast... i was ordering **** yesterday and it was like "Shipping may 7th" and i was like Jesus that is like a month out! ohh... wait....
The crude in this valley is so heavy it's not processed for fuel. There is a small amount as a by-product, but the majority gets turned to asphalt oil and coke. Just up the beach a little ways, that deposit is light and very refinable and that pool of oil goes all the way to the Sierra foothills.
Three of the largest oil and gas producers this week reported strong combined profits of $85.6 billion in 2023...
Anyway... numbers are hard eh :) sorry to have brought politics/money up :)
Local Farmers Supply store, they also sell non-ethanol fuel, can't find any of that over 87 Octane here on the island but at least it doesn't gum up my small engine stuff
And there it is :)
Millions..... it's double digit BILLIONS that we pay for at the pump.. for corporate profits..
"Shell reported adjusted earnings of $28.25 billion for the full-year 2023"
