    Kim, what does your 1.774 piston look like? Flattop, dish, or what? if a flat top, maybe a dish could be machined in, or take a slice off part of the piston head, and leave the quench side of the piston alone. If it's a dome (it would have to be a small one) machine the dome off.

    Look at the mount shape in post#7 (which is correct) compared to the picture of yours. I agree that there is something hinky (that's a technical term...) about yours compared to the NOS mounts that I have on the shelf.

    On my engine I ran Hemi length custom rods I will remeasure everything in a day or two. I wrote on top of box 440 with 1/2 inch stroke I cut the deck some but i do not remember how much. The Hemi rods are about .100 Longer ( I do not remember anymore )?

    66 Barracuda gas cap venting.

    From the factory, the vent is built into the filler neck and terminates inside the frame rail. Yours MAY be plugged and was venting through a leaky cap until you installed the new one.
