a competent machine shop shouldn't have a problem rebuilding the arms. i'd 100% do the moog offset upper bushings. buy good ball joints and lower control arm bushings and tie-rods if needed. you're in this far, i'd check the pitman and idler arm as well. swaybar wise, the stock ones are rare...

tough call. depends on how deep you're into the 360 for and if you can at least break even on it and score out the 408. even if you're a little more dough in, the 408 is worth it and the instant gratification/speed running the project timeline might justify the additional cash outlay.

Having 2-3 shift overlap - Thinking of switching from 4.2 apply lever to 3.8 - Thoughts?

Does that rmvb have low band apply? What are the clearances in both drums? How many clutches in each drum?

273 commando cylinder head bolt torque specs ? same as 340 ?

The torque spec is a essentially a measure of how much a bolt is being stretched as it is tightened. There is a particular amount which is ideal, and all other amounts which are not. The torque spec for a bolt therefore has nothing to do with what the bolt is holding and everything to do with...

Probably you have two V-belts for the A/C and and alternator and one V-belt for P/S. So three grooves.

He said KH brakes, so definitely small upper ball joint.

    Front suspension Q’s

Do you have disc brakes on the front? If so, that means that you probably have conversion UCA with large ball joints. Check to see if you have large or small ball joints. Going this far it would be wise to check/replace UCA bushings. Also check/replace LCA bushings, lower ball joint, strut...

By rebuild the arms, I assume you mean new bushings and ball joints. You can definitely have a local shop do that, or do it yourself if you have the tools (or don't but are down to get creative). You will need small ball joints. You also might consider the moog offset upper control arm bushings...

70 dart 470 ci drag car build.

I'm VERY interested in first test run of your build. So much similarities to my efforts. I will certainly post any results from my 451 hit. I'm hoping for 9.90s. But I'm guessing 10.20s. I'm NEVER as fast as I hoped.

I'm sure im not the only one whose run across a really good deal on a motor while building a motor, but I am now stuck overthinking things. Found a killer deal on a 408 stroker, freshly rebuilt. The remainder of my current build will cost the same, but will only yield me a refreshed 360 stock...

    Front suspension Q’s

Hey I have a 1966 Barracuda. I’m working on being more road worthy. I have some questions about front suspension. My upper control arms need to be replaced or rebuild, what are my options? Can I just buy the parts and have my local machine shop rebuild them? I did the Kelsey Haines brake upgrade...

Since when did fram market trans rebuild kits?

I used some cheap kits in the mid 90s. I never had an y problems with them. Only in old timers vehicles or poor ppl that I knew didn’t have the money. Those times I barely made a few dollars to buy groceries. But I felt better for helping the less fortunate.

Not mine 1967 commando 273 automatic with air fastback Barracuda (rough) but there.

Local guy has a solid 67 fastback with a 318 4 speed for under 15k. Imo a reasonable price in these here parts.

A QUICK QUESTION ABOUT MANIFOLD VACUUM

Some ignorance about idle timing on this thread. 25* with a mild cam. The engine in question has well over 200* @ 050 duration on the intake. It has 9.3:1 CR. Consider this engine: 10.75:1 CR. 197* @ 050 intake duration. Note that, all else being equal, a higher CR reduces the amount of idle...

    1984 Ram Crank No Start

I have not been pumping the gas pedal at all. It takes 1 pump and it starts right up, since day 1, any day, any weather/temperature. I gave it 1 pump this morning and that was it, even after multiple attempts to start. Came back in the afternoon, I gave a small pump at the carb to make sure it...

    what size megafuse?

For starters I could go 4 sizes smaller fusible link IF the 12 gauge output wire is the right size. I will call O'reillys & see if they can full field an alt for max capacity amperage. Pistons

more than most, less than a lot of others. it's not about what i like. it's about what is correct for the application, what fits the budget, the overall build plan and availability. i like light, forged pistons with modern, thin ring packs. but that might not be what's on the menu, so some...

    2.76 vs 2.94 gearing

exactly! you can buy at least 10 7.25's for the price of a 8.75 and then we get to have the discussion about the difference in power between a 2.45 and a 2.76 the next time. i see this as a win-win
