10:1 Walmart "Klean strip" (2% final acid concentration) for the win! 10 minute soak followed by a dunk in 1/4 cup washing soda in a 1/2 gallon water neutralizer bath and then fresh water rinse. Follow up all unplated steel with WD-40 as they will flash rust. This was a 1973 Pinto Aluminum...
Yeah, that might be something I may look into before I make my fuel system final.
I don't want a auto empty fuel cell from my first big wheelie
And of course yours is the best as usual lol.
It is nicely done
The construction paper really helps get stuff done right the 1st time.
You've been a big help through out my build so I'm glad I can keep you motivated.
Thanks buddy!!!
Im wondering if anyone has actually recovered a fender tag that has "gone missing" by posting info about it here. Mine is missing, and Ive pretty much given up hope of ever seeing it again. Around where I live, people actually remove the tags and store them someplace safe for fear of them...
I may be biased but I like my trunk setup the best. I especially like the fact that I retained the factory fuel filler setup and don't have a fuel cell that hangs down too low.
I have a super nice looking set of 68 barracuda hood inserts for a 383-S. New chrome. Missing about 4 pins but still very fixable. Or leave it be. Tacoma Washington. $1200
Thanks! My trunk looked like crap, so I covered it up. Good enough for a hotrod. Yours is coming along nicely! Your progress is keeping me motivated too. Keep it up! Here are some older shots:
A BIG coalescing oil to air separator is a must if you are feeding the PVC back into the air intake side of a turbo/supercharger. Even more so with an Intercooler. You do not want oil mist inside the vanes or cooler.
On my Subaru Turbo's I run 1 each 10AN line from the valve covers up to a...
They will fit. They are a little taller that some other roller lifters so need to check for pushrod clearance on the heads for the slight angle change.
I remember in one of my uncles old hot rod magazine, that there was highly modified Cleveland headed ford six, I always find those type of builds the coolest, wonder if there's a head that could be modded to fit a /6 ?
I read through the first few lines. Woody at Raar's shop can do miracles with head flow. That's what they did for a living and as a passion. Pic#1 is a home carved billet head for a alcohol pull tractor head based off a John Deere 6 cylinder diesel. The rest are my 273 heads ported by Woody at...
Got the spindles, backing plates and control arms hooked up. Engine is hooked up and almost ready to go. Finished up front brakes and got the rear axle and leaf springs in with some help from my brother and nephew.
What I hear about Holley in general, lately, I do not like. Bean counters. They recently closed down Hilborn. I guess they aren't smart enough to figure that even though every teen ager doesn't want a Hilborn setup, there still might be money to be made, AKA EFI + Hilborn= cool old...
