    Transmission cooler for drag racing

I'm thinking about changing to under the trunk area with the fan on the outside. I'd love to hear from people who have it back there.

    Transmission cooler for drag racing

Last Saturday it was 95 and humid. the Last 3 rounds they damned near hot lapped us. I can cool my motor down, but after the final round I noticed the transmission (727) was 220-230 degrees. I have the standard aluminum trans cooler in front of the radiator. Do any of you use one of the...

Finally getting on a job that I had on my winter list. And didn’t get to

I feel your pain. If you've ever tried to get a motor plate to seal on the front cover of a Gen 3 hemi it's not fun. You are sealing a smooth plate to a motor front cover that is designed for the no permatex gasket and about a dozen bolts. The water pump is actually the easy part. The plate...

    It's been a good month...

Me and the other guy sat in the heat at the top of the lanes waiting to go down for our final because some guy in a 36' trailer had driven his trailer into the lanes and had them blocked as he tried numerous times to get turned around. After about 15 minutes of this, someone from the track told...

    It's been a good month...

Another opportunity for a win yesterday makes it 3 races in a row with either the win or a split. Yesterday was tough in the Texas heat with 95 degree temps and high humidity and having to run in the class with the delay boxes and fast cars. 3500 DA all day. We agreed to split it, then wound...

Partial rainout works in my favor

After 3 weekends in a row of rainouts, we were finally able to race at Xtreme Raceway Park in Trumbul Texas (South of Dallas) We didn't get the race completely in though as the rain stopped us with 4 cars left in no box and 14 in box. I made it to the final 4 due to the other guy turning it red...

GoDeadOn App. Tried it? Using it?

UPDATE: I made a couple of passes tonight and when I went to scan my time slips it said I had to pay the registration fee to scan time slips from now on. I guess they let me do a few free ones to get me interested. No thanks.

    Penn Grade (Brad Penn) oil

I ran 10w30 in my race motor for years, then I was told by BES in Indiana that I should be running 10w40. I'm trying Lucas hot rod oil 10w40 on my current build. It's cheaper than racing oil and has a very high zinc content. It's on about the 4th oil change and so far things are looking good...

Can you still get Timken bearings?

GoDeadOn App. Tried it? Using it?

The app is free as far as I can tell. If you want it to predict your et's you have to pay for it.

How many of you grease your own trailer axles?

Do you have ez lube hubs? Every video I watched said it took about 1 tube for every hub. The idea is to completely replace the old grease so you keep pumping until you get all of the old grease out.

GoDeadOn App. Tried it? Using it?

I downloaded this and fiddled with it a little. I like that you can just take a picture of your time slip and it fills in all of the data. Haven't tried it at the track but apparently if you scan your time slip just after the pass if will fill in weather conditions if you tell it where you are.

How many of you grease your own trailer axles?

I realized the other day that I haven't greased the axles on my race trailer in 2 years, so I went and bought 5 tubes and got it done today. I put maybe 5000 miles a year on this trailer. 3 of the 4 were a little loose (you could move the nut by hand) so I tightened them until the brake drum...

    Let's be honest....

You should not need an adapter to use a 727. A small block 727 will bolt right up to the 5.7 hemi. You will need a special flex plate to account for the difference from the crank to the converter.

Is Bradenton Fl. going to get closed down by subdivision?

Just saw a disturbing video about city council changing zoning laws to allow housing right up next to the track property at Bradenton. I hope this isn't true, but we all know what happens when developers get cities to change zoning laws and build residential right next to a dragstrip.

Got a win last night at little river

Every now and then even a blind hog finds an acorn! Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge is a drag racing series around the Dallas area but last night we raced at Little River Dragway outside of Temple Texas. I.managed to take the win in "Super Pro", a footbrake class for 6.99 and faster. I could...

    Is this car worth 8000

Only consider buying it if you plan on racing it. Too much done to it already to try to resell as a street car.

Now that’s fast service. License renewal

IHRA takes about 2 weeks to get your real license, but if you renew online you can print out a paper temporary right away.
