I think that this is 100% BS
I would bet that your customers are reacting to sound and such (I'm glad they are happy!).
With the exhaust system hooked up, I don't think the difference would be noticeable in terms of acceleration. I think 15hp would be optimistic and on a stock 340 with around...
70 Dart non- rallye, non-deluxe looks like this:
I think you need 72 and up Dart or a Duster that share that rectangular speedo, instead of the long one.
If you buy a car sight unseen you really have absolutely nothing to complain about, but the real clincher in my view is that he didn't pay your asking price... you came down $3,300. I can't see any court giving the guy anything - the car is almost 60 years old and you didn't tell him it was a...
I haven't fooled with early As but I don't understand how the hole that the center (spinning part) of the cable fits into can be round. The cable would just spin in it - that's why the cable is square. On a later A body (mine are 1970) you can't pull the cable out through the transmission end...
I would (and have taken) the middle route - upgraded versions of the stock components. Several companies made stiffer more durable versions of the stock steering and suspension components leading to better handling and more responsive steering without dumping very well vetted systems.
I bought a built engine that was available after someone's project took a different direction. I didn't pick the cam. The engine was generally well built with quality parts and the price was right, but after driving it for some long trips it was clear that it wasn't ideal so I am considering...
I've got a car that has a high compression 340, lower gears, bigger cam, looser converter, but I don't think I would drive it on a 6000 mile road trip. That's why I built a different Dart for that use, just trying to refine it.
I got luck. A buddy is a machinist at a local manufacturing plant and OSHA changed the standards for how steep the ladder was (new ones are 4 feet deeper) so 3 of his friends got these for their shops for free!
Rob - At least at the beginning of this you suggested a cam that looks like a good choice, I might just give it a try - turns out a buddy has one collecting dust on a shelf for a project that took a different turn. I looked through a bunch of threads on here but they mostly seemed centered on...
I have been working on various tuning approaches and have met with marginal improvements but nothing that solved the issue to my satisfaction, but THAT'S NOT WHY I STARTED THIS THREAD. I started the thread to ask about the best cam to suit a particular use for a specific engine in a specific...
temp issue - does the car have a clutch fan? sounds like not enough air moving through the radiator at idle. if the clutch is wasted it might not be turning the fan enough to cool.
as the OP here... not buried - currently down to 3 possibilities and your recommendation is on the list. At the risk of pissing somebody off, part of the art of navigating FABO is separating the wheat from the chaff... or perhaps the golden nuggets from the gravel.
2K rattle can paint with hardener interior canister from 66 auto color. Pics don't do justice to the great metallic in the paint - fender top is base coat clear coat from the body shop.
