    Jeep 4.0 in 69 Barracuda

Radiator cooling is all about airflow. (Duh, this guy’s a genius right?). But the reason I point it out, is that Chrysler knew this as well when they stuffed a 5.9 in the 98 Grand. They added air vents in the hood to help get heat out of the engine compartment. A big (enough) radiator is one...

How Do I Adjust A Subwoofer For Best Sound?

When I say one out or two outs, I meant pairs. One out meaning a left & right (white/red) for rears. Two outs- apair for front and a pair for rear. I’m sorry.

How Do I Adjust A Subwoofer For Best Sound?

The 30 Watt RMS Kicker would walk all over the 40 Watt peak head unit. Picture shows 2 sets of RCA outputs on the back. The specs say 1 pair of outputs for rear. Maybe updated? If you have 2 sets of outs, Is the 2nd set for a sub, or for fronts? If it is a front out, set the Input Level of...

How Do I Adjust A Subwoofer For Best Sound?

Head units are usually rated at peak power, (read that as downhill with a good tailwind) whereas an actual amp is rated as continuous, or RMS. Also, there are different ways to get to 40 watts if you know ohms law. Power (in watts) is achieved from Amps X Volts. You can achieve a lot of voltage...

    Well, I’m committed now!

I'm wondering how long until I decide to re-do my paint. I did all the metal work, but was a skardy cat about attempting to spray the paint. I wanted to do all the prep and blocking, but the spray guy said "no, no, no, I'll take care of that" and knowing that prep is the most important part...

I forgot it was a carriage bolt, I was thinking it was pressed or welded studs. Thanks for adding detail.

1968 Dodge Dart GT Sleeping Beauty?

Richmond to NY in 2-3 hrs? I thought getting from Chesapeake to NY in 6 hours was doing good. Must have a faster car than a Dart in your garage too.

I think a nutdriver (can't remember size) laying on your back and contorting your arm up to the speaker.

How Do I Adjust A Subwoofer For Best Sound?

Lots of good information here, but I’ll add what I can to see if we can confuse you some more. As @273 said, it won’t be a set it once and be done thing. You can get it close, but as you listen to different music, you might need to tweak it now and then, eventually you get it where it sounds...

    Harness Tape/Wrap

Thank you for all your replies. I've been sidetracked with other stuff for the past couple weeks. I'm going to swing by Napa, & if they don't have anything, then I'll do an amazon order. I had some from amazon that I used during the interior work, but it was kind of cloth based & wasn't sure...

    Wiring identification preference?

A little on the costly side for one job, but if you have access to borrow.... I have a Dymo Rhino label maker from my home theater days. It only handles ½” wide label tape. I prefer the one we have at work which will handle the ¾” tape. How many letters you can fit in the width of the tape is...

You should own a green car meme!

Hope you don't mind, but I've been using a picture of your car as my desktop background at work for a couple years now, mainly as inspiration to get off my *** and get mine done. Everyone that sees it here loves it too.

Maybe sent you the wrong arms? B or C body? I have no idea about dimensional differences-just spitballing.

Thoughts are with you. Listen to the doctor and follow their advice, get a second opinion if you think, but at that point, they will probably tell you the same thing.

    Electronic ignition upgrade.

Well in my case, my car is a 68, I'm using an electronic era distributor to trigger an HEI. "hidden" black HEI module is less noticeable than an orange box under the hood. While NO, not much under there is stock anyway, there's one less thing jumping out at you. I went the HEI route ONLY after...

    Electronic ignition upgrade.

I made my own under distributor bracket for the HEI module using some 1/4" aluminum plate, and added an additional finned heat sink. If you go that route, Be sure to use thermal paste and make sure the mounting surface (bracket/plate whatever) doesn't have any high spots or burrs. You want...

    42RH in 68 Dart advice/request

@Turbosmblk Thanks for that info. I might be able to use a push-on/push-off toggle switch to leave reverse engaged if I need both hands for parking lot maneuvering rather than a momentary contact push button.

Not sure if there’s a question there, but the valve body is a hybrid I guess, original cast valve portion with billet block plate

    42RH in 68 Dart advice/request

I don't have the Transbrake version. Maybe I should have gotten that one, but I didn't think I wanted to hold a button while backing in/out of parking spaces with manual steering. I think it was a botched rebuild job. I found a snap ring that everybody says doesn't belong in any Mopar...

    42RH in 68 Dart advice/request

Thinking back, I'm reasonably sure I MIGHT have hit O/D, but I KNOW I didn't L/U. In stock form, The O/D, though engaged via a solenoid, is still a hydraulic function. The solenoid opens a valve that sends fluid to the O/D piston. In this valve body, he just directs fluid physically just like...

    42RH in 68 Dart advice/request

No, I for some reason have to complicate everything. I used a Cope reverse manual valve body. He engages O\D manually. You use a standard ratchet shifter, but it goes PR1234, you don't have neutral. I sure hope I don't regret going this route, and it is causing me some angst.

FWIW, I did mine without the “special” tools, just a $28 amazon digital caliper. The round bar is 5.5. “, and the caliper extends enough to down to where yo need, you just need to be careful to measure to the right “landing” and subtract 5.5 inches from the reading to get to what the chart is...
