    273 Rocker on 340

Before grinding, I would verify the rocker shafts don't need relocating.

Spray can. I used John Deere gloss black. I know, it's not supposed to be black under the hood. I had to paint it some color.

    273 Rocker on 340

Exactly. Buy them bare and build them to work.

You can buy a kit and do it yourself easy enough. Don't remember the brand name but comes with 4 1 quart bottles and hardener. Also has the gun to apply it with. Did the underside and inside floors on my Scamp with it.

    adjusting valve lash 422 SB

Do you have a cam card? Maybe it’s a tight lash solid. Maybe it’s a hydraulic roller cam with solid lifters requiring a tight lash. You have to know what’s in it or what lash should be before knowing if it’s wrong.

I’ll say this, if you don’t have a Hobby Air II system, highly recommend getting one.

    273 Rocker on 340

I can guarantee you that you will have to grind on your 273 rockers to get them to work with Edelbrock sized springs. First hand experience here.

    273 Commando - UTG

Some act like it's their job, funny thing is they seem very intimate with all his content and his life story, I know more about tony through the haters more than anything from the few videos of his I've seen.

    318LA build

I have used that summit cam on a stock '86 318 rebuild.i bought it mostly due to good pricing, in addition to a 600 summit carb, performer intake, and headers, original 302 heads, but fwiw, I was disappointed in it below 3000 rpm. I found the off the shelf comp xe250 to be the better performer...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

I lightly sanded the rough stuff off but it’s magnifying any imperfections. And these nozzles are junk. I’ve got two cans that barely had any color come out and when it did, it globbed. But this will do for now. Thinking of taking this and having it rhinolined or linexed

    adjusting valve lash 422 SB

Ex open/int closes is how I do it. That method along with a remote starter switch makes it easy-peasy.

I can paint with a spray gun just fine but give me a rattle can and I guarantee I'll screw up.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Over the weekend, I did manage to lay some more paint on the frame. Using Farm implement with Rust encapsulator from Rustolem. Not real thrilled with the very narrow spray pattern but for rattle can and the first coat, it’ll do. This truck gonna get driven and used as a truck so it doesn’t...

Don't like driving my Scamp in the rain either.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

No doubt. I don't drive the Swinger in the rain and the 66 doesn't sound like fun for a 4 hour trip. Getting caught in a shower is one thing but driving 4 hours in rainstorms is no fun for sure.
