leaf spring center bolt height Q

8&3/4 leaf springs/race app. right now the top nub of the center bolt sticks up maybe 3/8", just enough to engage the perch(s). If I add tapered shims to correct pinion angle the nub would engage the shim but not high enough to engage the perch. will the ubolts have enough clamping to hold it...

Who's running the same size tires front and rear

I ran over a valve stem (with the core removed) while passing someone, it was flat by the time I got back into the right lane. I'm leaning towards buying another pair of 215/65R15's. I could run 235's and they'd be roughly the same height as the 215's but is it really worth it for .72".........

1968 Barracuda Notch - Plano, TX

Added AC vents to the dash. Had the paint and body guy do some work on the dash frame and paint it. Will need to trim the pad a little for clearance, will be getting the pads redone also. Side view of driver side vent without pad Need to widen the “ashtray” opening on the pad slightly...

You might just have the pads adjusted too much.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

For the what it’s worth column I have witnessed with my own beady eyes and drove in and alongside a couple of folks running the OD setup including @Frodee They all liked the result. Only gripe is the reverse protocol. I am about to pull out my spooled 433s and am giving serious thought to doing...

Rear Drums Only Free in Reverse Direction?

Not a dumb question! It’s actually the one that matters most! I just found that it’s only the passenger side that is binding. I am going to dismantle it and inspect it. It does imply the pads are the issue I believe.

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

The sticker is still on the hood. I'll get a pic of it to post. It had EGR, air pump, dual evap canisters, OSAC valve. It had a Thermoquad and it's not Leanburn.

Yeah I'm just glad I was happy with what I got for it. All I spent on that car was time and gas, I did not wanna go through the whole title thing again I already did with the valiant.

Awesome I'll be looking out for when you post. I plan on changing my headers steering column gear box and guages next. My ps gear box is leaking and I think I'm just gonna switch to a borgeson steering box and switch to dough headers. I have the summit racing ones now and they do not fit well...

    WANTED: Packard 56 male connectors

I called M&H yesterday to get info on a source for the male spade terminals. They have the tooling and dies for them, so are proprietary to them and Year One. All their harness components are from original tooling which was acquired by Year One and anything produced by M&H is exclusive to Year...

Rear Drums Only Free in Reverse Direction?

Dumb question but have you tried just tightening one side or the other only, to determine which side is hanging you up?

Rear Drums Only Free in Reverse Direction?

Things to check: Back off the adjusters? Are you sure you have the right shoes? There is a lot of confusion about the 10" rear brakes on A-bodies. They take 10x1-3/4" shoes, NOT 2" shoes. Parts stores are often confused about this. Did you assemble everything correctly (correct spring on top...
