    Hmm.. just found a 11 year old post from rustyratrod mentioning that over tightening the ubolts can cause springs to be super stiff... i air gunned mine down.. gonna try loosening them before i remove leafs.. it sounds weird that being too tight would do that though

    You could get just the starter motor bracket but you still need a flywheel. I have a junk torque converter that I'm going to cut off the ring gear part of the torque converter and use that for starting an engine.     If you did the ammeter bypass and still blowing fusible links most likely the issue lies in either the battery/alternator or starting circuit. You'll need a wiring diagram and a voltmeter to find the short.

    If you get your wheels balanced using tape weights on the back inside of the wheel (middle of the rim), you can get the weights out from behind the trim ring and have it fit a little tighter.

    Another add-on is a Adiovox cruise control. Before my next drive, I'm going to plug the vacuum port that it pulls from. I have a on-off throttle transition surge that occurs when coasting down hills, and I think that this old CC may have a ruptured cannister. It isn't working at this time so...
