I wouldnt either on a chevrolet trans , they were very very porous compaired to a chrysler hemi trans , understand ur concern even if it is an aftermarket , but 2 small holes stategically placed about the size of a 1 or 2 gal. water sprayer tip wouldnt weaken it that much...

the E Z lube hubs work well , but if u got ur head on straight , u can feel the pressure when the bearings/hub is full , continuing to add more grease will blow the seal on the out side of the inside bearing ....
