Do you have the guts for the passenger side yellow one?

My plan is to cut straight, being careful not to cut the crossmember. Then tack the dogleg down to the floor pan. On the shifter side, I will leave the floor pan metal on top of the crossmember to strengthen it and also keep crud out. The factory did it that way, so it's good enough for me. :)

I always wanted to do that when I worked as a transmission lineman. We used to do some helicopter work, but never any 'Bird on a wire' stuff like that.

The electrical connectors where the lockup and OD wires hook up aren't even close to being the same, and there are probably internal differences also. @Duster346 has probably built more of them than the rest of us have ever seen, so he is a good guy to listen to...

Rock Auto lists 2 different inner wheel bearings. I think that may have been the biggest change in the knuckles.

What was the name brand of the windshield gaskets you used?

Great! I'm glad it worked out well and that you are happy with it. That shifter will be just fine for your car, and the way you will probably drive it. If you had a high horse power 340 Demon and hot rodded it around a lot, then sure, a Hurst shifter would be better suited. But for a nice driver...

If it's a granny gear 4 speed, you wouldn't want to put that in there. If it's an 833 overdrive, it could be made to work, but would be WAY more trouble than finding an A body 833, along with the related parts to do the change over. The truck 833OD's have a longer tailshaft than an A body 833.

It would be an 8 or 9 hr ride for y'all, but the show has built back up in the last few years. There is camping right at the track too.

Yep! Susan and I used to work at it every year when we first got married. I knew the founders of the show well. It's a good show, but it was a lot better before John & Vicki got beat out of it by the former track owner. I'm glad they're doing it twice a year now...April & November.

I'd try a Porta Power on the roof before replacing it. Get the windshield lip back to where it's supposed to be and see if the skin will get close with hammer & dolly. Glad you didn't get hurt!
