    Nicks Garage 383 build

Yep spend a grand for 5 horsepower and loose torque. On a street car that doesn't hook. For the guy that just wants to freshen up the 383 in his Road Runner.

OK, how far do I have to go back to get to the beginning of this discussion. Like a few have mentioned, someone muddied up someone else's thread. I have been busy elsewhere and haven't followed along very closely.

A chunk of flexible hot air tube works great as well . Like the stuff used from the exhaust manifold heat stove to the underside of the air cleaner snorkel. I had a chunk laying around and it worked really good. I know MacGyver. :poke:

Some of Wix is made in China as well. It's a world wide market and as long as the Chinese work for pennies an hour with no Unions or Osha this will continue. As long as the USA manufacturers are in control of the quality, there's money to be made.

    Wheels and Tires Question

Shipping used or new wheels can get expensive. Something to remember when purchasing. A swap meet is your best choice unless someone near you has a set.

    Wheels and Tires Question

I sure like the looks of 15" wheels on these early A's. The Rallys are 14's.

    Wheels and Tires Question

7" wide with a 4 to 4 1/2 backspace usually work fine. A 255-60 tire is the limit and won't work on some cars. @memike, what are you running on yours?

Nice ones. They are fun on trips like that. We had 3 cars going to Colorado one summer. It sure makes the trip across Nebraska more fun. That's where "Toolman" came from. THe wife was "Beancounter" (CPA), Phil was "Undertaker" (funeral Director), and his wife was "Stitcher" (Seamstress)
