    Engine Installation

IMO, probably better to use the carb plate held with 4 5/16" correct length bolt engagement spreading the load over all the intake bolts. I use end of head to opposite end of head as lift points when doing engine/trans assy. Bulkhead connector clearance can be a little tight as well as heater...

    Here’s a nice sounding build

I was interested in this engine because it has the magnum motor mounts and would pretty much bolt right in my dakota. Except would have to change the oil pan to a rear sump. Also I found out yesterday that I can buy a 6.4 hemi stroked to a 426 with a 3.0 Whipple supercharger, that makes 872...

    UPDATE on the trashed shackles

From my other post, this is where my rattle was coming from. Betcha I don’t break these. 1/4 x 1-1/2 plate and 1/2 shank bolts with nyloc nuts. The bolts have the heads cut off and welded into the holes in the plate. I used 1-1/2 plate because the poly bushings have a 1-1/2 outer section...

    Engine Installation

I use this gizmo on small or big blocks with auto or manuals and haven’t had any problems, iron oe aluminum intakes. It also makes life easy when installing by yourself, tighten or loosen the jack screw accordingly and it changes the angle of the assembly.

[WANTED] Mopar Performance 727 deep steel pan

Most, but not all of the OEM 518 pans I've seen have a drain plug in them. I have one on my spare transmission and it is equipped with a plug.

Will the 1 7/8" and 2" TTI headers fit eagle 5.7 heads?

Run them. I have a 6.1 based 426 with heavily ported early heads that have the square ports. It dynoed just fine with the TTI 2 inch long tubes. Think how far down and how much work it would be to shrink that 2 inch tube to match the port.

I agree, there's nothing wrong with a zero deck piston. I don't know about stroker motors but it's the rpm's that it turns is kinda high for a long stroke long rod motor?

It appears to have a 8 3/4 rear end, is it big bolt pattern or small bolt pattern wheels?

    Here’s a nice sounding build

Nothing wrong with a zero deck piston. Mine are at zero deck( flattops) I suspect that is what the build is using. Probably somewhere around a 60cc head which would yield about 12.5 compression like stated in the build. Yes, with a 9.200 deck you are really cramming the piston with a 4 inch...

    Here’s a nice sounding build

Just a question, isn't that short deck height kinda short for building a stroker motor? If I did the math right the pistons would be at zero deck height and that means no room for decking of the block if it would be needed. I would want a extra .250"-.375" that would help open up the use of...

Yes Mike, My age is also being advanced. My tenant has voiced a desire to actually buy this house. If I can work out a deal with her where she buys the house and I rent back the garage and the apartment above it for, say 10 years. Really great for me.....

Massive caster variance Side to side

Strut rod tuning is needed at times to dial in the caster sweep. I have done hundreds of alignments with a tape measure and a caster/camber gauge (Longacre). We used to take them to the alignment rack and have them double checked to a while. The numbers were always good so we started skipping...
