    Slant 6 stroker?

Years ago while Jack Clifford was still alive he said the Slants should be built for torque. Me being young expressed my desire to build a high revving 170. He didn't agree.

    Slant 6 stroker?

24 years ago we did just that. offset grind the crank . I wasn't the engine builder so don't remember the specs. It was the now defunked Mopar Engines West. The reason was the use of aluminum rods, blah, blah etc. Why ? just for experimental reasons to see what can work.231 cid. $$$$$ to run a...

FAIL right out of the package.

I will second this. You now have a 50/50 chance with parts. 20 years ago there was still quality with parts and quality workmanship.Around that time tho, things started to change.

Where can I buy a reliable remanufactured 318 for 1971 Duster?

Several local repair shops buy Jasper engines.I did talk to one and he said he has a good track record with Jasper. I see their trucks almost daily.

Any lube that would stop front suspension squeaking?

It is possible that you have polyurethane bushings.25 years ago I did my Duster with polyurethane bushings. No one told me that you had to grease them.My squeak was from the sway bar bushings.A few years later some suspension companies started installing grease fittings in their parts. I know...

    273 Rocker on 340

Did it on several cars. As far back as 1974.Big thing to look for is valve spring clearance as performance springs may be larger diameter compared to the spindly 273 spring. We would grind some from the back of each rocker to clear the retainer and spring. Easy to do. 318-340-360. They work...

What dashboard gauges are most useful for a slant?

Being a desert car my 64 Dart gauge cluster was literally turning to dust. Along with being sun bleached. Low buck was going with Equus Gauges oil, water, volts, fuel. Work well and have done 3 cars with them. The little red light near the key is the oil light. I like to have both.Un finished work.

Is 20W-50 too heavy for my 340?

15/40 Good stuff, least back in the 80's. Ran it in everything from Mack trucks, Cat dozers, fork lifts, even in the salesman cars. Salesmen beat the crap out of those cars. Only one flat chevy cam out of 10. Most had over 100K when we ordered up a new fleet. Macks 400K before rebuilds. Really...
