Early A Body aftermarket sheet metal

I was helping a guy out with floor pans for a 66 Dart and I thought I might as well share the info. Autobody Specialties has floor pans and quarter panel patches. https://autobodyspecialt.com/ I know Layson's has patch panels as well. Feel free to add your source. I will make this a sticky.

    What's this for?

I'm working on this very same thing with one of my old Ford trucks right now, and Word to The Wise: If you need to actually hear the unit, don't leave the new one dangling under the dash, and/or zip tied to existing wires, as they need to be mounted on something metal in order for the "click"...

New here - Power brake conversion

I would discourage you from doing that, rather, fix or upgrade the actual brakes. If the brakes are larger than 9" perhaps the lining is glazed or poorly fitted, etc. By going to larger brakes or front disks, you get way more than just power brakes. My legs are not that strong. When my...

Brand new QA1 front suspension and still have steering wheel play?

I sort of disagree. My original 273 Dart when I bought it fit that. After scoring better T bars (used), new, better shocks and radials, replacing all the worn parts AND ADDING a factory anti sway bar, and then rebuilding the rear leafs, that was a COMPLETELY different car NONE...

    Torco and AFR

You are using way too much. A quart in 12 gallons is way too much. I forget your compression ratio but you can use 91 pump gas into the 12's as far as compression ratio but you have to get everything else correct. I'd spend some time working on that and then start at 1.5 ounces per gallon. And...

    Power steering help

It looks like it’s set up for three anchor points but one of them would require me to take out one of the manifold bolts, do you think I’d have issues with leaking if I take it out and put it back in? Here is a pic of it close to where it needs to go. Does anyone else have this same bracket set...

    Erratic gauges

That or a bad connection. Known problems: The instrument cluster harness connector pins get loose, you must solder them to the board traces. Gauge studs/ nuts get corroded, loosen/ tighten the nuts a few times. The IVR can be bad OR THE IVR connector fingers can lose contact with...

Need help testing a 1975 valiant Instrument cluster

Not very accurately. You can apply a single 1 1 /2V cell to them, and I'll have to look up the expected deflection. But you have some preventive work to do. Can you solder? Clean and inspect around the connector pins. Scrape around the base of the pins, scare up some ELECTRONIC...
