    Ignition problem in 67 Cuda

@RustyRatRod , a little more info here, he already has ignition 1 and 2 connected together and running to the red wire on the MSD(not heavy red to battery) that is labeled "from original coil + terminal", I didnt know that when I first made the post, my apologies. So it appears that he already...

    Mopar Perf. A500 Pan??

Came across this pan on a trad. It measures 4.75" deep. I searched the part number but can't find any details. I'm assuming it's an A500 pan but the catalog that I have lists a different part number (see pic). Usually mopar will put part# replaced by part# but I am unable to find it in this...

    Parts Cache

Doc, As you go to stash all this stuff, especially stuff that you REALLY want dry, our local hardware store sells really heavy giant zip loc brand sealable bags. Big enough to fit an intake manifold in the bottom.

    Curious about my old car

Back in 1974 I purchased a 1970 340 Duster. It was A4 silver poly with the black vinyl top black interior with bucket seats and shift console and no 340 call out anywhere on the exterior of the car. I drove that car for about seven years when I finally had to trade it in for a new Chevy S-10...

Spark plug wire routing for a 340 small block.

I don't know what exhaust system you have, but anything that is even vaguely shaped like a drivers side 68-70 340 manifold those would not work with - wires need to stay higher then drop right down to the plugs. I have seen various header routings that stay above the head ports that would have...

How far in the hole 318 pistons

There could be a number of other factors involved that the factories could have used beside fudging the numbers. Camshaft profiles could be one. Lower intake lift but longer duration is one I found in the TRW cam catalogue. This applied to Mopar, Chev and Ford bread and butter engines of the...

    Ignition problem in 67 Cuda

They very likely do not. Mopar rarely has correct instructions on anything in the aftermarket. It's either slap wrong or missing details.

How far in the hole 318 pistons

Very true Rusty. The open chamber heads did have more tendency to detonation. Other factors in the emissions systems of the day caused drivability issues. The eengineers were having fits trying to figure out how to lower all the pollutants and be able to have reasonable drivability. The VW...

    Constant air when bleeding

There are no ignorant questions. What is your bleeding procedure? Should be RR, LR, RF, LF. I use a glass jar with a piece of vacuum hose stuck on the bleeder valve. I put about 1/4 of a jar of brake fluid in the bottom. Put the end of the hose in the jar and make sure it's submerged in brake...

    Constant air when bleeding

I bench bled it in the vice, no issues getting it bubble free. After research on here, I also cracked the lines on the master with pops holding one pump to see if I got anything at the master. The car HAS been sitting for a little over a year, other than in and out of a paint booth, but I...

    Ignition problem in 67 Cuda

He must connect IGN1 and IGN2 together and route that to the hot for the MSD. IGN1 is "Run" and IGN2 is "12V when starting. Both must be connected together when using an ignition like the MSD that eliminates the ballast. Sounds like all he has is IGN2 hooked up. It goes dead when you release the...
