I saw my first Tesla truck today.

My wife and I went out to eat last weekend with @RAT ROD AL & Theresa, and one of those butt ugly things pulled into the parking lot right outside our window. I told Al I was thinking about sueing Tesla for copyright infringement because it looks like that thing I drew on the wall with a crayon...

    intake swap performer loss?

Can you just mark the bottom of the hood around the air cleaner, then take it off, flip it over, heat and hammer the clearance into it? All the rules make it sound like OEM Gold judging at The Mopar Nationals instead of beat n bang racing.....lol.

Not an A body guy, but . . . Floor pan question

Does the 66 Valiant need a full floor pan or just patches? Auto Body Specialties has all 4 patches for early A bodies such as the 66 Valiant. Several years ago, someone on here used an AMD full floor pan from a 67 - 76 A body in an early A, but it took a lot of work to get the middle of the pan...

Machinist will not build engine unless roller cam is used!

Nope, no ticking. Sometimes, the ticking noise with retrofit hydro rollers comes from worn lifter bores in older engines. I had my lifter bores bushed, so the whole shebang is new and working together. The bushings had .040 oil holes drilled in them before install, and that concerned me after...

    Heart Attack

Glad you're ok. Hang in there and get well soon. 8 stents sound like a lot, but a few may be doubled up or overlapping in the same artery.

    Driveshaft question

Your transmission crossmember and mount will work right back, same bolts and all. One thing you need to check on the proposed 727, is to see if it has the mount on the bottom of the tailshaft housing for shift linkage for console floor shift cars. If your car is a column shift, no need to even...

    intake swap performer loss?

If the adapter you already have is one of the stacked type, with 4 bbl on one side and 2 bbl on the other, making one at one level may help. Do they have rules about gutting the bracing from the bottom side of the hood? Might be a tad bit of room there too if they don't care.

    Transmission for push-button Barracuda

Somebody has to tell you, so it may as well be me. :( That is what's known as a 318 Poly motor and it will not fit in your 64 Barracuda, because it is too wide. The 318 Poly motors only came in B & C body cars, and also pickup trucks. They never came in Early A body cars like your 64...

Piedmont Mopars show @ Farmington Dragway 5-11-24 Farmington, NC

Dumb question! :realcrazy: Anybody got a non OD A body 833 core with the large output shaft that they'd want to swap for a 67 B body 833 core? Swap at the show cause them things are too heavy to ship.

    Cheap 318 performance mods.

I remember a thread where a guy asked how to de-tune a 360, and a lot of people told him to junk it and buy a 318. At least they're consistent!

    intake swap performer loss?

One other thing you might be able to do is to make a carb adapter out of a single level 1/4" piece of aluminum. Cut it out to fit the intake with a thin gasket and bolts at the 4 corners, then center the 2 bbl gasket up and drill the mount holes for the 2 bbl carb. Flip it over and countersink...

Machinist will not build engine unless roller cam is used!

My machinist is one of my closest friends. He's 81 years old and has been a machinist for almost 60 years, and having built many engines for NASCAR teams and drivers that put a lot of big names in the winners circle. He will no longer build a street engine with hydraulic flat tappet cams because...

Sure doesn't seem like it, for sure! Time gets away though. Winston is a good guy, humble and seems like an old Rocker...lol. He got in a bad car wreck and was hurt pretty bad, but that was a while before his last post. Hope he's still on this side of the grass, and doing ok.

    Bending a sway bar

I got to thinking about the rear bar....do you think if you modified the bracket that bolts between the springs and the rearend housing, would it be easier and less risky than bending the bar? Maybe weld a new tab 1" outboard to each one if that wouldn't cause interference with the brakes?

Paint it, Clear it or Let It Rip?

Thanks! I bought that intake for a plan B if the 5.9 Magnum MPFI gives me too much grief when I put it in my 88 D100.

    Bending a sway bar

No help on the rear bar, but how did you mount the E body front sway bar? I put one from a 70 Roadrunner, which is the same thing as an E body bar in my old 64 Belvedere wagon many moons ago. Used the factory Early B body k frame and just cut a notch in each side so I could pass the bar thru the...

    Transmission for push-button Barracuda

The good news is, that the K frame in Early A bodies such as the 64-66 Barracudas are the same no matter if the car came with a 6 cylinder or V8. You just need some Early A V8 motor mount brackets and insulators. The steering center link on V8 cars had a drop down in it so it would clear the oil...

Paint it, Clear it or Let It Rip?

Did you have to hone the holes out in the Magnum bolt pattern to get the plugs knocked in? I bought one of those intakes a while back when someone had them on sale cheap. I noticed that the plugs seemed to be too big for the holes, is why I asked. You did a good job on the paint...
