Anybody running the RMS AlterKation? Was it really worth the cost?

I am sure they feel better, but nobody is claiming they feel like a rack setup. The HD Ram trucks have the same problem as the old mopars, I have a buddy who has spent a bunch of money to improve the feel of his HD Diesel Ram with the steering box setup. He has put a Red-head steering box ...

Anybody running the RMS AlterKation? Was it really worth the cost?

That is why guys are looking for aftermarket setups, the power gearbox are the limitation on the mopars, the firm feel is just that, a firmed up feel, still has that on center sloppy feel to it , Had a "stage 3 box" and that was my impression, better that stock , but that isn't saying much ...

Anybody running the RMS AlterKation? Was it really worth the cost?

I can't comment on how they handle, but I purchased a street lynx and I am very impressed on the quality of the parts, Bill doesn't charge you until it is built and then sent out and when I had questions , which was more than once he was a phone call away and very helpful . Every review of his...

Yes, Magnum force and Street lynx in the rear. It had all stock suspension when it was purchased.

    Speedway G-comp suspension

With the Torsion bars ,the TTI headers go under them so you can't raise the Transmission up in the rear. If they hang down your stuck with bad ground clearance. Without them I was able to raise the rear up, to allow good clearance.I had the Hemi engine set in the car at first with stock K setup...

    Speedway G-comp suspension

I have a Challenger in the shop right now with coilovers front and rear. I love not having to deal with those torsion bars , I was able to raise transmission up two inches to get my driveline angle correct which also pulled up the TTI headers , nothing hangs down now. The rear set a little high...

    Speedway G-comp suspension

I bought an old pro street Dodge Challenger project. I will be cutting out the rear suspension and putting something modern with coilovers. I plan on doing the same in the front , I want to slam it down with some big tires all the way around. I want to set the front clip at ride height and get...

    Speedway G-comp suspension

I think a plus to this type of setup would be it is nice when you eliminate the torsion bars , you gain all the room to move the engine up or down. Drive line angles can be made to the rear transmission frame area easier . If your building a car and the owner wants a modern new car feel, I...

    Speedway G-comp suspension

Found the build sheet on ,looks like they are running 255/35r18 on the front: G-Comp '65 Chevy II Nova Build List Just throwing this out as a possible another option for suspension, The G comp comes with a forged spindle , and with the wilwood brakes could have a 4.5 bolt pattern.

    Speedway G-comp suspension

They have a competition setup , which may be what they are using . It uses a c7 Hubs and uses 275/35r18 tires. I would think you could get an A-body down to 3k pounds pretty easy . G-Comp Unser Edition 1962-67 Chevy II Nova Front Suspension Kit

    Speedway G-comp suspension

I saw where they are making some really nice stuff for gm. I have seen some mopars getting aftermarket suspensions put under them, like Detroit Speed just built a really nice Charger. If you didn't mind some fabrication , I wonder if something like this could be made to work with its 56 inch...

5.7 hemi rough idle and low backfire out exhaust any ideas

Hopefully it will reset the memory and will be fine. I believe having the ability to plug into your muscle car like a new car a check diagnostics is the best part of the Hotwire /stock pcm setup . You can watch misfires on data stream ,Also checking long term fuel trim can tell if it is...

5.7 hemi rough idle and low backfire out exhaust any ideas

Any codes that state Bank one or Two , Sensor "Two" means downstream oxygen sensor (after catalytic converters) Usually The Hotwire setup usually doesn't use post converter O2 sensors because usually catalytic converters aren't usually used in hot rods/swaps.Not sure what you have with your...

5.7 hemi rough idle and low backfire out exhaust any ideas

When we fired up our 5.7 hemi it had a pop/backfire ,found on of the injectors was stuck closed. The modern gasoline with the ethanol blends are hard on the injectors when they set . You can use your stethoscope on those to make sure they all sound the same running. If you have headers you can...

rack n pinion front steer ackerman issues...explain...

I think if you run a line between the upper and lower ball joints , you will find the tie rod mounting location intersects slightly behind this line to give it ackerman. On my magnum force front they make their own steering arm to keep angle correct with a mopar spindle and Fox rack. A stock...

HELP! I'm running out of ideas

How have you checked your alignment ? If your toe is way off, you could be dragging your wheels in a turn. I would get that done first . Wheel bearing problems are usually shown as a loose wheel from adjustment not being correct , or worn which you can see as pits in the bearing and race...

HELP! I'm running out of ideas

To get your seal out, put the rotor back on the spindle leaving the outer bearing out and screw the spindle nut on a couple threads. Now grab the rotor and pull it towards you a few times as you **** it slightly, the inner bearing will catch the nut and pull the seal out. Almost like a slide...

    pinion bearing puller

You could always find someone local to you that has a puller and press and pay them a few bucks to do it for you. I have a shop and can justify the need for the clam shell style puller, it is not for everyone ,but worth the money if you are doing differentials.
