Do you have a 130 /143 tooth flywheel? There is a 172 tooth ( I think that is accurate ) for a non gear reduction starter that the pitch of the gear may cause the starter to stick in engaged position.

No Oil pressure reading is fine. Oil only goes to rockers in a few certain positions of the engine rotation. Rotate it a bit at a time as Myron said in post #2. He knows these engines as well as anyone I know!

I would have a concern with cutting the mains down over .300 on a 360 cast crank. I would also be concerned with the opening up of the 318 block to 2.810. It would be quite a machining job for me and it would make the skinny 318 Main caps even skinnier yet. I have seen a 360 stock eliminator...

The 360 has a much bigger Main bearing size! As I recall it is 2.81 The 318/340/273 has a much smaller Main Bearing size. As I recall 2.50 You can buy longer stroke cranks with the 2.50 Main size. A 4 inch would get you 391 CI as I recall. The 408 converted 360 is a good combo! The main caps...

Can you unbolt trans crossmember and lower transmission tailshaft enough to get a allen head socket with a extension on it. Or cut a couple small holes in floorboard and replace them with a plate to get from drivers area. Someone beat my post by a few seconds!

On my engine I ran Hemi length custom rods I will remeasure everything in a day or two. I wrote on top of box 440 with 1/2 inch stroke I cut the deck some but i do not remember how much. The Hemi rods are about .100 Longer ( I do not remember anymore )?

Let me measure them again this week. I did it with my calibers and two 23 month old grandkids hanging on me. I could have easily screwed up. I know I had the engine together some years ago and they were not down in the hole like that.

No luck! All my 1/2 440 Strokers are CD 1.66 to 1.7 You must run a 7.1 rod or longer? I run stock length rods.
