[SOLD] 1967 Plymouth Valiant Signet 2dr + tons of parts

My wife made me an offer I couldn't refuse on a new project, so this project must go. Up for sale is a mostly-disassembled 1967 Plymouth Valiant Signet 2dr, a large number of used good parts for the car and a whole pile of new parts for the car that I've been collecting over the past several...

    5.9L Magnum recipe...

So I've got this 166,000-mile 5.9L Magnum I picked up for $300. It's torn down at this point and the machine shop has given it a clean bill of health for a rebuild. Now I get to pick parts. What do I want out of the engine? A good, solid, fun driver that makes good power on 87-octane gas. I'm...

    Achievement unlocked: Tied the knot!

On Saturday, 12 July 2014, I married the woman I've loved for a large portion of my adult life. :) Amy Lohn and I put on a nice, short wedding ceremony officiated by a judge, then threw one hell of a reception with about two hundred of our closest family and friends. :) The wedding ceremony...

    Silly question...

I don't generally move bare blocks around...Where do you guys hook chains to on your bare 5.9L magnum blocks? Head bolts? Thanks!

    LCA repair options...

So, I have a set of '73-'76 swaybar LCAs. Before I knew any better, I welded on the stiffening plates. Now that I know better, I realize that was a huge mistake. I found Jim Lusk's video and one of the LCAs I have appears to be mildly bad, while the other one is at least as bad as the worst one...

    Door storage?

I have a spare set of doors for my '67 Valiant. Right now they're just laying on the garage floor, sucking up lots of floor space. I'd like to built a cart out of 2x4s or something to store them vertically, so I can roll the cart with the doors into a corner. Have any of you built something like...

    My latest silly project...

So, for the holidays I got a lot of woodworking tools...A DeWalt 618 router with plunge and fixed bases, a Bosch router table to go with the router, a nice jigsaw, some nice router bits...All of this stuff generates dust. I don't like dust. I have a small shop-vac...A Stanley SL18017...

Decisions can be a big relief sometimes...

This may be a bit long-winded, sorry... So, I play bass in a cover band, covering mostly rock. We've been together for two and a half years, gigging for two. Next week, I'm quitting. Well, I'm letting them know that I'll play all the gigs we're obligated to as of right now, which means I'll...

    Great news, guys!

Scientists have discovered the protein whose amount correlates to the amount of talking someone does. Women have a lot more of it than men. http://www.scienceworldreport.com/articles/5073/20130220/why-women-talk-more-men-language-protein.htm Now we can start working on a CURE! :D

    Band gear-hauler...

I probably shouldn't be thinking about this, but... I play bass in a cover band. This means I have a decent amount of gear to drag to gigs, and it doesn't fit conveniently in my Wrangler, nor is it fun to load in the Wrangler. I noticed a late-'70s or '80s Cadillac Hearse for sale not far from...

Rear spring front hanger stud spacing...

So, I want to build a set of casters/dollies for the rear of my Valiant. Everyone seems to bolt them to the front spring hangers at the rear of the car, so that's where I looked. I had my springs off the car so I measured the hangers. I'm looking to see if anyone has similar measurements, or...

So I noticed something odd about these LCAs...

So I obtained a set of '73-'76 LCAs with swaybar tabs. I noticed that the swaybar tabs are only welded to the LCA on one side of each vertical. Is this how they always did it? Since I'm going to be welding on the reinforcement plates I thought about welding the other side of the verticals as...

    Finishing suspension/steering bits?

So what do you all use for painting/coating suspension and steering bits? I need to finish spindles, lower control arms, k-member, steering box, etc. How durable is the coating you're using?

    '73-'76 k-member differences...

So, this may be an odd one, but since I'm piecing a front suspension for my Valiant together I should probably ask people that know...Is there any difference between a '73-'76 k-member that originally had a swaybar and one that didn't? Thanks!

WTB: '73-'76 Lower Control Arms With Swaybar Tabs

My '67 Valiant is getting a '73-'76 V8 k-member, so I need a set of '73-'76 swaybar-friendly lower control arms. The car has a hacked '68-'72 k-member with early-style swaybar-tabbed LCAs that I'd be happy to trade, or cash. I also have some other '73-'76 disc-brake components that would be...

Lower control arm outer bushing shell removal frustration...

So I tried welding a washer to the outer bushing shell and pressing it out...Twice. Both times the welds pulled chunks of the bushing shell off with the welds, so now there's not much of a rim left to weld to. :wack: Any other suggestions? How thick is the metal in the walls of the bushing shell?

    Is this LCA pin shot?

So, I pulled all the stuff off the junk k-member that came in my '67 Valiant. Looks like someone was running poly LCA bushings. Neat. However, the LCA pivot pins seem to be somewhat chewed up in the area that runs into the k-member. Is this pin shot, or is it reusable? The pins rotated in the...

    Actual PROGRESS!

Not on the car directly, but on a related bit of work... They'll get sand-blasted and painted tomorrow evening. Anyone else build a set of these? I based the overall height on where the car is now while it's on jackstands. Top is 2", 1/8" thick angle iron. Vertical is 1.5", 1/8" square tube...

My dog needs a new home.

It's killing me to post this, but I have no choice. My dog, Quigley, is in need of a new home. Quigley is an 80-lb. neutered male American Bulldog/Catahoula Cur mix. He's a great dog...He's fun, energetic, great at letting us know when someone is near the house, wonderful at consuming small...

Plumbing my garage for compressed air...

So, my lovely girlfriend bought an air compressor for me for the holidays. What a girl. :D It's just a Craftsman twenty-six-gallon, 150PSI, 3.8SCFM@90PSI, upright jobber, but it'll do what I need quite adequately for now, which will mostly be running air tools. I don't think I could paint a car...

    Lower radiator support piece...

So, my '67 Valiant has a fairly bashed-up lower radiator support and support-to-k-member brace. is there any place that manufacturers these pieces now? I know badart has his tubular lower radiator support, and I'm considering that in addition to replacing the factory piece, but it would be nice...

    Torsion bar removal question...

So, I've seen a few other threads on here that advocate using a tool to help remove the torsion bar...I saw an article on Mopar Muscle's site (http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/techarticles/suspension/mopp_0102_how_to_remove_k_member_and_front_suspension/index.html) that advises the reader to...

    K-member bolt size?

Does anyone know the size of a-body k-member bolts? I'm building a set of dollies to roll my Valiant around on while the k-member is out and I need to know how big the holes for the k-member bolts are. I have a spare k-member I can measure tonight, but if someone already knows it would save me...

    How much does a mostly-stripped A-body weigh?

So, I'm tearing my '67 Valiant down. Front-end sheetmetal is coming off, interior is out, engine/transmission are out, k-member and axle will be out soon. How much does the mostly-stripped body weigh? I'm asking cause I want to build a set of dollies to bolt to the k-member location and the rear...

    Turn signals and back-up lights...

So, as I take my '67 Valiant apart I've been thinking about changes and/or improvements that can be made to the car. I was looking at the tail light assemblies and had an idea. The Valiant originally used a combined brake and turn signal bulb. I believe there's merit in the idea that a...

    Sometimes you just get lucky.

I purchased an a-body 8-3/4" axle/diff from someone for $250. I stuck it in my garage several months ago and haven't looked at it since...I didn't even know what case it was. Tonight I finally looked. It's a 489. Score! Even if it needs a rebuild it's probably worth it at this point. Next time...

    11.75" conversion...Can I use a-body slider calipers?

Say I decide to round up the parts for an 11.75" rotor conversion on my Valiant, which already has a '73-'76 BBP disc setup. Can I get away with using my a-body calipers or do I need to hunt down a set of later calipers? I've been doing a bunch of reading and this bit wasn't exactly clear...
