Unless he drastically changes the Victor, like makes it 18 degree, changes the exhaust bolt pattern, etc thats a problem, Im all for more options, but I dont think its ok to rip off a companies work and call it yours.

Is it ok to copy a W5 head and make it better or are we just mad at Speedmaster

New W5 heads havent been sold by mopar since the early 90's, so not really copying anything thats on the market. Also there is plenty to improve upon there, so I dont really see a problem. Now if they ripped off the the small block Victor head, and sold it with edelbrocks name on it, or even...

    compression or flow?

The W2 and W5 share a few parts, but a W5 is nowhere close to a square port W5. I own both. Exhaust ports and exhaust bolt patterns are different, intake port floor is raised and ports are rectangle. Very different heads that share a few parts. That being said if OP has a ported set of...

Maybe an other head producer in the game.

You need to see more than the race track. I met quite a few guys in their 30's and 40's building mopars.

There are plenty of 400+ cubic inch small block mopars that will never hit a track and could use a head like this. Look at all the big port small block chevy heads sold, they surely arent being used at the track only. Lots of folks are happy to run a factory block 600+ hp, especially in a...

It would be interesting to hear what kent has in mind for a small block head.

When it comes down to it, I dont think too many guys are interested in turbos. Most builds are still small or big block strokers. A head designed around a b/rb rocker would give more and cheaper rocker options, and still keep the pushrod out of the port.

If they can release a 380 cfm 18 degree small block mopar head without exotic parts at a decent price like they claim they are doing for chevies in the video that would be great. If you havent watched the video the goal is a 700 hp pump gas 430ci small block chevy.

Its not a bad way to go, its a good head. It would be great to have more options at that power level. Hopefully the manufacturer in the article will have one for us.

Also good heads, only drawback is the indy specific rocker.

A lot of valid points. I think the victor missed on a few points, number one was cost, over 4k a set was too much for people. 2 Edelbrock did a poor job advertising it took a standard big block rocker. 3 the 16 degree valve angle made most people think you needed a custom piston, not sure...
