i did a little reserch and it makes sense that what bob shingler is saying, i have a floor shifter annd i start off in drive in i have first,wont shift i manually put it in second no problems there,and i never tried to put it into 1st manually at 40 mph(for obvious reasons)but i cant help but...
i do have a kick down linkage hooked up to it,i went through a whole bunch of crap to get it to,but thats a whole other story.im gonna do a little reserch of what a reverse manual valve body is,does that mean that it will never shift on its own?
I have that rod by the way maybee it didnt show...
ok guys,sorry its taken so long, got the valve body out ,it was a little mucky not to bad, it seems to me that there ar parts missing,how many check balls are there supposed to be?
Is there an exploded veiw of one i can veiw?
took it out for i drive and the tranny works good the kick down works it kicks down into 1st when i gun it
No third, i can take it up to 6 grand it wont go into third,i have a mis matched dipstick would if it was low on fluid would it do that?
when i start off in drive it is in first when i put it in low it doesnt move.
shift linkage is in right ,it wont start in gear or low only park and nutral.
the tranny is out of a 72 duster
installed a suposedly built 727 in my 74 dart sport and it will go into drive no slipping start off in 1st gear. I can pretty much red line it and it wont shift into 2nd untill i manually do it (whitch is kinda fun) after im through 2nd i manully put it back in drive and it stays in second...
u need about 20 inches of chain and 2 longer intake bolts front drivers side and rear passenger side.bolts should be 2 1/4 inshes long and get som washers so they dont pull through the chain.good luck. I love goen on engine buys, good exuse to stand around it and have a few beers.when u get it...
i got the same issue i have a nice working 225 that i put a blower on and it worked amazing,i put it on for sale for 300 for motor tranny and blower and no hits,its in the way and its criminal to scrap it but thats what is gonna happen i think
just did it,and still doing it,ask away i can probly tell u what not to do and what u can expect.360duster is right not much u can use,absolute hardest part to get is the transmission kick down linkage,i still dont have one.
fired my unknown motor that i bought ,took a chance, its sounds pretty tough.i have an oil leak on the 90 degree ''thing'' for the oil filter. What has been done: took the original backer plate off
Bolted 90 thing on with no gasket on the banjo bolt.
Question is what gaskets and where do i get...
