The cam lobe on that worn lifter doesn't look obviously flat, but I have to imagine its safe to say that things shouldn't be put back together with that cam in it. That leaves my options at trying a flat tappet again or going down the road of putting rollers in my la block.

I have had to do this to my m1 single plane. The PO had two stripped bolt holes. Helicoils are easy and a very good fix. I duct taped the intake opening closed before hand then vacuumed it all up after the fact, remove tape - good to go.

Yup, I have to agree. I have the 390HP version, only difference is R/T heads. I run msd stuff with a custom 10* bushing from this site. I run 22* and 32* w/ a light blue and light silver. I have 3.91 and an a body 833 with the low first gear ratio.

They do rumble, I think you should be able to make it out in this picture. I hear you on the smaller tire, but wouldnt that negate the gear swap? What I was getting at with the cam is would it still be appropriate after a stroker kit?

So I have a MP 360 Magnum Crate engine. Its the 390 HP version with the R/T heads and 9:1 CR. cam: 230°/234° @ .050" 0.501"/0.513" Lift and it has the M1 single plain intake on it. The engine still seems to run strong and be in good shape, but of course more is always better, I guess I caught...

Maybe I missed it, but what intake is on that? I found my single plane M1 with my Holley 750 really liked a smaller shooter (31) and 50cc pump kit with the large brown cam... Before that I had a bad stumble off idle like you described I couldnt get rid of.

I've thought about this too, I have my o2 sensor behind the collector flange also, same thing, couldn't bring myself to tap my TTis. If it was leaking outside air into the exhaust wouldn't that cause for a faulty lean reading instead of rich?? that what I would think.

I believe the breather on the opposite valve cover is good. I say this because I can pull the valve out of its valve cover and it still buzzes. The lines are tight. I'll try another valve, i'm thinking one with a lighter spring rate.. I wasn't sure if there was something specific to these or...
