    Modern Mopar!

I'm glad they finally did the Scat Pack...the big engine in a standard R/T. I was hoping they would do this back in 2011 before I bought my 5.0 :(

    [SOLD] 1973 Duster 340 w/Sunroof

This is my first post in a long, long time. I'm moving on from this Duster. It's just sitting in my garage and taking up space. I just simply do not have the time or resources anymore. I have had the car since 2005. I haven't driven it or started it since 2010. So buyer will need to bring a...

    Any Mortgage/Foreclosure gurus?

It's a lose/lose scenario. If you continue to work off your existing model, you're going to struggle for quite a while. If you walk away, your credit is jacked for the next 7 years (at least). Unless you plan on paying everything with cash moving forward, walking away may not be the ideal...

    matching numbers?

Definitely. Percieved value of the make and model factors into it as well. As for the comment regarding 340 cars? Collectors are up to speed on the 340's place in Mopar history. 20 years ago, nobody wanted a 340 car. Nobody even wanted a 340 E-body. Hemi's and 440 cars were desiable back...

    matching numbers?

Scarcity vs demand is what drives up price. Nowadays, it is difficult finding a car with the matching #'s engine or transmission. It's even more difficult finding a car with both. Matching #'s should command an asking price higher than that of the same car without matching #'s. There isn't a...

    New challenger

I'm wondering what drivetrain combos will be offered. If it is a strictly a 392 project, this car will end up pricing itself out of most of our budgets upwards of $45k. In order for the proposed Barracuda to be competitive, it will need to weigh in the neighborhood of 3,500 - 3,600 lbs. It...

    muffler and brake shop

Understandable. Diagnostic equipment isn't cheap. And then there are the costs associated with learning how to use them. Your operating costs will dictate how versatile you will need to be.

    muffler and brake shop

Just an observation, but where I live the muffler and brake shops have turned into full blown auto service shops. They have expanded their services beyond brakes and exhaust to general troubleshooting and repair. I checked out two exhaust shops recently for catalytic convertor work and were...

How bad do these 3 big mistakes hurt the value of this 340 car?

I agree that it's "restified". It is done so tastefully, but doesn't help the value of the car. What would help is having the #'s matching drivetrain. You can repaint a car as many times as you want to (expensive), but once that #'s matching motor is gone...it's gone for good.

test drove some new cars today

I would also recommend taking a look at the Altima. The 4 cyl versions price around what your looking at (comparing to Elantra & Impreza). I used to sell Hyundai's back in 1999 - 2000. This was when Hyundai first offered the 10 yr/100,000 mile powertrain warranties. Hyundai was the first to...

    1972 Dodge Challenger

It depends on your patience and luxury of time. If you have a few months to try to sell, you can probably get closer to your asking price. If you are looking for a quick sale, then you slash the price. BTW, I like it.

    Picture resizing

I use Imageshack. 1. Just select the photo to upload. 2. Select "message board" size. 3. Submit. It gives you the pic which you can save for later use and also provides a forum code link. Some forums require the link and do not allow the uploading of the actual photo even if it's...

Top Gear... Challenger vs Camaro vs Mustang

It's not just China. I know everyone wants to make China the bad guy here, but it's been happening for a long time now. I remember back in the 80's when the largest U.S. companies were opening factories in Mexico. There was the same backlash back then as there is now. And yes, it also...

Top Gear... Challenger vs Camaro vs Mustang

I still see way too many people with phones pinned to their ears while driving. It's not surprising that these are the ones cutting other people off, unsafe lane changes or driving slow in the passing lanes.

Top Gear... Challenger vs Camaro vs Mustang

This is more true than anyone could imagine nowadays. In 1970, you could get a Hemi Challenger for around $4,500. this equates to about $26k in today's dollars (we're talking about MSRP here). In 1970, that Challenger was the king of the hill and at the top of the Challenger line up...in other...

Whats the oldest daily driver you drive.

I wish I could say the same. My commute isn't very far. no more than 25 round trip miles per day plus extracurricular stuff on the weekends. I have a 2012 Mustang GT and I'm hitting the gas station on a weekly basis. Gas just hit $4.20 (Super Unleaded) here in Union City yesterday.

Added another Mopar to the stable...

I got down to replacing some of the "little stuff" the past week. I replaced the rear hatch supports over the weekend and new wiper blades. I had a new cat welded in on Friday. The old one was rattling and triggered a CEL. Both issues are gone. Exhaust shops in Cali charge an arm and leg...
