your coil may be falling off in the secondary causing ignition breakup, try swapping it out with another coil. (coil with external resister)

sounds like you have a cam bearing issue, either it was installed wrong or the bearing has shifted covering the oil hole. the bearings closer to the rear of the engine is probably the culprit.

if i recall right its in the tailshaft

actually, it was converted from the column to the floor and all the column shift parts and linkage were boxed and put away in 72 when it was done, this is a factory manual 3 speed car.
