So im going edelbrock for heads. They offer 2 heads for use with hydraulic roller cam, one's specifically for the 340. My question is, which head should I go with? I have the old trw pistons that just barely stick out the hole. Should I go for #60775 and run a thicker head gasket or go with #60175?

Dave, Is your mirror remote adjustable? I have non remote mirrors and they look like they have some sort of rubber or neoprene gasket wedged between the housing and the perimeter of the glass. I just don't want to pry and break the glass if that's not what actually holds the glass in.

Well that just crushed my hopes of powder coating all my chrome and polished trim flat black. Guess it all stays as is because paint won't last long on the trim.

The gauge was never installed. The sensor was threaded into the pipe but never saw exhaust gas.

They definitely look like LA heads. I can see the oil hole at the deck and there's pedestals for rockers shafts.

They are new. I know where your going with this as I was thinking the same thing. Although, If the hood is flush with the top of the fenders i'm not seeing how the side bumpers are holding the hood up. I could always removed the side bumpers and see what happens. Whats your thoughts?

I'll get a pic tomorrow, but as i said before everything else lines up. The front hood line matches to the front body line of the fenders. Even when i try to install the headlight bezels the top molding on the grill doesn't line up, so the bezel doesn't sit right.

You can't go by that. The only true way to know if everything is kosher is to use an axle narrowing tool. It's all about the bearing centers lining up. Those sheet metal housings twist and bow when welded from the factory. That's why the ends are welded on last.
