Thanks everyone. I replied to d55dave that I would get some decent pics in the morning. Just got my car back from storage. What he is saying is what I've been suspecting. I have felt all along that this was a newer Magnum motor with older timing cover. Just trying to confirm my thoughts.

Well took the car out today. We put some bends on the retainer clips that are there. Much tighter now. drove the car for a couple hours and it is much quieter. No more rattling at least for now. Time will tell. Thanks everyone for your input.

Yes everything tight. even though the old pads looked ok except for where from bouncing around I installed new pads. They are tighter in there now but still not quite right in my opinion. I think the bigger one in the picture above is what I need. So going to look for a brake hardware kit. It is Kelsey Hayes brakes and that type of clip is not there.

I'm a machinist Bill. Got one from one of our suppliers for free. I just pulled the other bolt to see the length and the thread. Works perfect.

will keep hemidart67 in mind. got the problem solved. the bolt i needed was a 7/16-20 thread inch and a half long.

Lost a bolt on the passenger side front disc brake. Wondering if someone can tell me what size the caliper mounting bolt is. Don't want to take other one out if I don't have to. Caliper is flopping all over.

well i finally found the problem. the wire came off the neutral saftey switch. thank you everybody for the input. on the road again. 8-)

@ krazykuda...had the wife standing on the brake when i tried this. going to be talking to a friend today or tomorrow about getting it on the lift so i don't have to crawl under it on a jack. getting to old for that. he also knows more about electrical so he will be able to trace it down easier.
