I thought about that... But after I installed it, I found I REALLY cant tell on the Valiant, unless I'm really looking. With the hood open, it stands out, though. It doesn't bother me since it's not like my car is an original 'survivor'.

I finally had a chance to do a good road test today... This thing is a BEAST when it comes to cooling. No problems at highway speeds or at idle. With the old radiator, I had all sorts of problems, especially on hot days when stopped or moving slow. That is all gone now. This was a great investment!

Well, It's installed and working... Makes life a LOT easier. Access is pretty good, too. Of course, there are some things that I will have to jack the car up for so the wheels are off the ramps, but it is SO nice to be able to stand up, or sit down, and work instead of crawl!

I agree- The certification or lack thereof is not a deal killer for me, either- While they DO have to prove their lift to get certified they also have to 'pay to play'... There are quality lifts (backyard buddy included) that are not certified. To me that wasn't really an issue, air is readily...

More progress... It's coming along. The trunk seal is installed- And, New windlace on all the doors- 'Cat Whiskers' on the windows- New tires are ordered, so tomorrow I'll remove and blast the wheels to paint them. I'm so close to being able to drive I can TASTE it :)

Then, Some paint. Candy apple red. White roof- A little orange peel here and there- But I'm pretty happy. I've painted a lot of boats, but this is the first car I've painted. Now, to put it all back together- I've still got lots to do, but I've got the next week off...

More done... I taped off the area to be cut away on the front of the fender, then made some patches to weld in. Then used the plasma cutter to cut out the bad metal. I formed the patch by beating it out on a shot bag... This is WAY early in the process and it still has a really bad case...

I got the rear drivers side belt installed, Then put it all back together to make sure it all fit- It all worked out well. I jacked the car up and removed the wheel to make it easier to get at things (I wanted to inspect the brakes anyway). Even with that, it was only about a 20 minute job...
