Smoke free 7 days using Chantix

Glad to see that you're making an effort to quit; I came very close, but I'm not there yet. My first try was at the beginning of the year, I posted a link on bigblockdart.com that I found which was very helpful. It's in my first post; I highly recommend you check it out as there is some very...

    72 Heater Core Removal

Gotta agree with this; it's not a fun job by any means, but it's cake compared to these newer cars. A shop I deliver to had some poor guy's dash completely ripped out of his car, parts all over the place. I asked the mechanic if he was rewiring the whole dash, he said "nope, just the heater...

    Torsion bar size effect

I looked into 1" bars for a while, but I changed my mind quick after riding in my friend's Duster; he had these installed and the ride was almost unbearable. Not too mention that when you start running bars that thick, you must upgrade other suspension components to compensate for the drastic...

    Truly adjsutable shocks

That's because QA-1's are primarily for racing; the Edelbrocks are nice, but they aren't adjustable. Konis are good for the price.

How "flat" should leaf springs be?

Those springs sound like they are pretty much done. I was unsure about mine when I first bought my car, but after really looking at it I realized that the previous owner had lowered the front end drastically to make it level with the rear because the springs were so wasted. I'm waiting until...

    Al Bundy's Car

Yes, it was a Duster. There was also that episode where he ran it through a car wash and found out that it was actually red... :)

No clue about working on carbs

I agree; I assume you did the super six swap? If you swapped on an old choke thermostat, it might not be functioning properly...

    Plumbing a adj proportioning valve?

What size rear brakes do you currently have? If it's to counter rear-wheel lockup, you can put it anywhere after the distribution block.

    instrument gauge needle

On my last Dart, I bought some of that bright orange safety spray paint and sprayed a little pool of it into the cap; then I dabbed it on with a model paint brush. It actually came out really good; I was pretty proud of myself... :toothy7:

    Noob...

Thanks guys, I'll try to get pics up next week; all I have are older ones from when the car was looking a little rough... :vom:

72 Dart gauge cluster electrical problem

You can get replacement fusible links at most parts stores; look in their electrical section. While you're replacing it, check for corrosion at the bulkhead connector, also.

    My 318 Duster

New here too; what kind of manifolds are you running now? I'm asking because I think 300hp is going to be tough to achieve using stock 318 manifolds. Runnung a good set of headers is the only way you're going to see any real gains from running a better cam and heads.

Hey everyone, I usually bounce in here on occasion to use the decoder, but I was going through the member list and noticed a few familiar faces from other boards, so I thought I'd sign up and join in on the fun... I have a 69 Swinger which will eventually be set up for autocross; why should...
