Main Studs and Head Bolt Life/

I have alum. main caps with ARP studs, nuts and ARP head bolts on RPM heads. My question is, How many times can I torque the studs, nuts and bolts? At what point should I replace them?

    decking a 383 block

There's a lot of truth to what you all say. Their are alot of ways to achieve this. However IMO. respectfully. Your block first needs to be squared up. All or most of all the measurements you do will be based on your block being square.

    Street Gear Poll

This is really a fun topic! When I bought my first Duster it had a 5:13. You didn't figure MPG, you figured GPH (gallons per hour). Switched them to 2:94. WOW! Now I did not shift from 2nd to 3rd untill 110 mph I did have it up to 130 mph on it's speedo once. It had no bottom end. Next 3:23...

    Trans shield

Ken with all do respect I would like to know why you say it would not fit. Especially when you have never seen one? I'd really like to know. Because if I was going to bring this back to market I would address this issue. Also I don't know if you have ever tried to bring something to the racing...

I do my B-O's in second also. But sometimes in 1st and 2nd, I haven't ever had a problem with that Billet drum? Can't say I have ether, although those I have seen don't talk to much on their way to a hospital. Seriously though the billet drum I think has a spread of 16k to 18k rpm. So at launch...

    Trans shield

Heating issues were solved by using simple heat shielding wrap around the headers. Soft blankets can be easily cleaned of oil saturation. If your leaking that bad you should fix your leaks! You are a hazard to the other racers on the track. Blankets returned to me that were not abused were...

    Vintage drag race question

I actually saw one of the D/Stock Darts back in the day. My brother hauled my butt down to a Chryser dealer in Akron, Ohio to show it to me. He wanted to buy it but dad would not sign the papers! Good thing too. It was like a body in white. No options. It had the 4-speed, duel quads and...

    Mid plate mounting

I too used the Comp, Eng. mid-plate withe spacer with it "same thickness as the mid-plate". The problem "IMO" it makes the flex plate bolts to short and these are .500 long bolts. And to compound the problem these are "slim headed" bolts! Normal headed bolts are to thick and interfere. Solution>...

    340 marine engines.

Love to find a industrial 340. The 318 was used by many boat manufactures. There are parts out there. Usually marine blocks have extra material in the main webbibg area.

Counter rotating props cancels out torque from the props. It makes a boat more stable. Also different types of hulls use different rotations. Some rotate inwards and some outwards.

I agree kbr577. That cam is going to idle around 900 to 1k rpm. You better have stock in Exxon, lol. It is designed for heads that flow a lot more than what you have in mind. Get a different head for that cam.

    The truth about caltracs

Love that photo!!!! May I make a suggestion? The front end of your car is twisted. This can be adjusted to come out even easily. The Cal-Tracks will work even better. I fixed this this way because mine did it. 70/30 shock on drivers side. 90/10 on Pass. side. Find your lowest ride height even...

    The Elusive Roller Cam.....

Regrinding? Probably, sometimes? IDK? Maybe. One of the cam people told me to be wary about some cams. He said some are coated with copper or anodized and only the lobs are hardened. They are of a lesser steel than a true billit.
