Does anyone have a 50-year-old car that doesn’t drip a drop of something from somewhere?

Two manual steering cars here with manual transmissions, one truck too. All 1970 model year. No leaks. Power steering & automatic transmissions are much more prone to leaks.

    Looking for 1971 340 block and 727 transmission 1E118166

If someone has it or finds it, they may type the information on the pad into a search engine. So no 'H" and with a space after the first 1 is what they would see if they have it. So for anyone potentially searching the internet - 1E 116188 (and there is no way to predict the casting date)

    Trimming four speed input shaft.

Well, you do need to be smart enough to know when to stop. ;-)

    Trimming four speed input shaft.

No need. Support your engine front down (out of the car) on a stable surface. Use the flywheel & mount a magnetic drill press on it. (many places rent them if you do not have one) Drill hole in crankshaft deeper in a large enough diameter to clear the input shaft. DO NOT open it up for a...

    Fender pentastar emblem.

Long ago I checked several different 1970 Challenger fenders & none of them matched exactly. Fenders were stamped at different times, by different people on different machinery.

Probably one of the last 1975 Dart Swingers produced

I just noticed your photo of the Mylar door sticker. The SPD (scheduled production date) on the fender tag is 919 - BUT - The MDH code (Month, Day, Hour) of final completion on the door sticker of 082920 is over two weeks earlier. So, more proof for the under-educated & online decoders that...

    Engine decoding

This is wrong for a couple of reasons. IF a 1968 model year engine has a partial VIN, it will be on the back of the engine on top of the bell flange where the transmission meets it. AND for about the first half or so of the 1969 model year, the FULL VIN was stamped on the lower pad. And more...

Probably one of the last 1975 Dart Swingers produced

1975 Hamtramk production VINs ran into at least the 3955xx range. Model years from 1972 on ran longer than from 1971 back.

Absolute baloney. All the big block A's came with an 8 3/4". Same for all the 340 A's. Same for any 1970 up A with a 3-speed stick.

    67 Dart radio delete fender

I'll try to explain it...... Options were extra cost items. All radios were extra cost items at the time. Therefore, there was no 'delete' option for a radio - a radio was just not ordered at all.

    67 Dart radio delete fender

Radios were an extra cost option so it just came with no radio, there was no 'delete' option. No radio, no hole in the fender, no antenna. Plastic face plate over the hole in the dash.
