Can someone tell me ? If i have a 741case and purchase a pumpkin with a 742 or489 case will my driveshaft and ujoints still interchange without issue?

I have 1970 swinger 340 with an open 741 with 3:23 gears, I would like to eventually put in 3:91's with a sure grip.can I purchase a 489 or 742 pumpkin, and bolt in and go with no problems, will they all work with my u joints and factory drives haft with no differences. Thanks for any input

just realized what might be problem,1970 swinger ,I noticed it having someone else move steering while I looked for slop, the whole steering gear moves , think the nuts are loose , got under car ,of course all my sockets are 8 points , weird lokking bolts , anybody else seen these? know what...

can someone give me advice on a set of headers for a 70 swinger with a 340 ,with power steering, do I have to change to a mini starter or pull out steering column and torsion bar?
