This is great info! Do you happen to know what year the Explorer was? Betting my 69 Valiant is real close to a Dart.

Nice that they are flattened - those look like nice parts!

Good questions... that’s a tight fit on an early A. Rear axle is probably most critical.

14g wire should be OK for 20A at 15' - although to be fair I'm not exactly sure what the color codes mean in this table: 12 Volt Wiring Tech: Gauge to Amps | Offroaders.com Engineering Toolbox shows a much larger wire, though - 10g @ 15', 20A: Amps and Wire Gauge - 12V Circuit For short term...

Mopar performance single plane fitment on a magnum

Once upon a time, there was a MP single-plane manifold to convert the beer-barrel to something more performance-oriented. I think the carb-only setup in the Summit link above is similar, but the one I have is set up with what appears to be an old-school LA thermostat housing location. This...

Will that clear your knee getting in and out of the car? Can you sink it further in to the dash pad - since you're blending it in anyway?

    FiTech EFI system

I don't have a fitech system at the moment, my EFI is a multiport system but I'm interested to see if one of the issues I'm experiencing could be related to something other than the control unit. Before I ditch the work I've done to put that system together, I want to be as sure as I can be...

Interested in this as well - I'm considering the Command Center as a better way to deal with my fuel supply... I'm currently using an external lift pump to feed an external FI pump. Although I ran a new 3/8" supply line, the return is the original 5/16" line. The return is plumbed in to the...

Circling back on my previous advice while this is being discussed, I have to say that I'm pretty sure my ballast resistor is gone, but I managed all my wiring & install chores back before my #1 Son was born... in 2005. I need to see if I can verify what I remember with what's actually on the...

I think the stock ignition switch will work OK - I was worried about the same issue when I did my GM TPI conversion on my Valiant, and the switch generally operates as make-before-break... that is the ignition circuit is made before the power is fully pulled over to the starting circuit...

Subscribed with a bump... I'm about to pull my existing ECM (GM-based TPI from Affordable) and replace it with SOMETHING that self-tunes. Between kids and life, I just don't have the tinker time any more, and I've got to get my Valiant back on the road soon. I really only need the ECM and...

How do the new heads compare to the old ones? Did MM flow them when they rebuilt them, or did they have some baseline numbers for the spec porting job they did? I know a bunch of folks have flowed RB heads over the years, but it's been a decade since I paid attention to those numbers... Clair

With all that AL on the top end of the engine, I can see going either way. If you're going silver with the intake, I guess you could go silver with the heads, too. I don't know what it takes to powder coat heads, and if you've got to take them all apart to do it, that might not be worth the...

Right - the Phord axle tags are great, and easy to read. If I recall, the first characters (EDIT: on the bottom row of the tag) are the gear ratios - example - 3L73 means 3.73:1 ratio with a Locking diff. Without the locker, it's more like 3 73 with a space between the 3 and the 73. Good...

Anybody running 17" Cobra Bullit rims on a Duster

If full droop is the only issue, it may not be a problem in "real" life. There might be some situations where you might see suspension movement that great - strange driveway entrance or something like that, but if you know that's coming you can change your angle of entry. Also, if you're...

Anybody running 17" Cobra Bullit rims on a Duster

I think you're on the right track - the same way you're calculating the fit of the larger BS on the wider axle, you can also use the "front space" plus the axle width to see how the whole assembly will fit inside the wheel wells. You can gain an easy 1/2" per side by massaging the inner quarter...

Post your wheel and tire combos.

I need to try one of your front wheels/tires on my Valiant. I'm pretty sure they'll work up front since I'm not wildly different than your setup, but I'd love to take advantage of the space I have in the rear. Still want to be able to rotate tires, though... no tubs to worry about for me...
