    Horn won't work

Yes, I agree using the finger works on the road but not too well in the inspection bay.

    Horn won't work

Check out an old post a few down titled "stupid horn question" and see slantsixdan's reply about six down. He mentions using no relay and I am sure the horn worked on this car but the relay plug under the glove box was empty. Just went outside to look at the car because I read a post saying...

    Horn won't work

67 Dart I am following most of what you say but not all of it. I took a wire, stripped both ends and put one on the horn and one on the positive battery terminal and the horn works so I am assuming the ground is good. The horn relay plug is under the glove box and if you look at it straight on...

    Horn won't work

The car is a 1973 Duster 340 all pretty much original and am I right in assuming that the ground is the bolt that holds the horn on. On the horn mounting flange there is a little tit that sticks out and fits into a hole next to the mounting bolt that I figured located the horn but also helped...

    Horn won't work

Just going in for a inspection sticker and realized my horn is not working. I took off the horn and cleaned all the connections and I bench tested the horn which works and reinstalled it, nothing. I noticed on the install that there are two plug commectors coming off the horn line so I tried...

    !!!wanted rubber boots for hood!!!

I just found the old thread from 7demon2, it was "dual snorkle hood info" or something like that. Year one has them, I think it was part # HS58 and the price was $55.

    !!!wanted rubber boots for hood!!!

Somebody had a source for these. You might look at threads on installing snorkel hood scoops, I think that is where I saw it.

What to use to fill in small holes in metal

Alot of good ideas here. I think I will take some paint stripper and remove all the paint in the problem area and then look at my choices. The area in question is only about 3 to 4" sq. so we are not talking a big problem here( I don't think ).

What to use to fill in small holes in metal

On my rockers and on the front inside door openings I have some small holes and pin holes. I could just run some bondo over them that would last for a little while but I was wondering if there is a epoxy or something that might be more permanent. Anyone ever tried or found something that works?

Yup, that's it. I'm assuming yours was chrome also and you painted it?

    antenna hole plug

The '75 Duster I have as a donor car came with a radio delete on it and the factory plug looks like the standard chrome antenna bezel on the outside then there is a round black rubber or plastic ring then on the inside diameter there is a small chrome circle with a chrome 5/16" bolt head. I'm...

73 duster fan switch won't shut off

Any ideas out there, having the fan constantly running is driving me nuts. Sometimes when I work on the car I like to have the radio on but with the fan running continually I'm afraid I'll kill the battery.

    8 1/4 or 8 3/4 rear end in my Duster 340?

Oh. I see, you are talking about the small bolt pattern on the earlier Dusters. Anyway it looks like I am OK with my '73 having the 8 1/4 even though the sales lit. says 8 3/4.

    8 1/4 or 8 3/4 rear end in my Duster 340?

Cafe are you saying the 8 1/4 in '73 was somewhat heavy duty? What size rear end would a '73 slant six have come with and as far as the disc brakes my car has them but I don't know anything about a big bolt set up. Demon seed I agree would you that in '73 not only was it not a "heavy weight...

    8 1/4 or 8 3/4 rear end in my Duster 340?

Wow, your good Green but it still leaves some question as to when they stopped using them in the Duster 340. The Duster was definetly not considered a "high weight" application. I'm sure the '73 brochure was printed in late summer or early fall of 1972 so maybe that's why they still stated the...

    8 1/4 or 8 3/4 rear end in my Duster 340?

I was at a big cruise meet at Gillette stadium the other night because I am selling my '73 Duster 340. It recieved a lot of attention with people crawling all over and under the car and one thing that came up was the rear end. From the old days I remember the 8 3/4 rearend being the smooth on...

73 duster fan switch won't shut off

The fan switch in my '73 stays on and the switch feels like it might be junk. I have a '75 donor car and the switch has three solid positions (low, medium and high, I'm guessing) but mine just slides up and down with no clicking stops at all. I notice they both have a wired plug on the back. Are...

Need help checking Alt and regulator on '73

Well, it looks like it was the regulator, lights and everything look fine after I changed it out. Nice to see the dash lights again. I am a little concerned about the battery voltage though, it seens to be around 15 volts now at idle. Is that too much?

Need help checking Alt and regulator on '73

The battery reads a solid 12.31 but the Alternator is reading around 9 but the read out is all over the place. My tester is a Craftsman unit and may be messed up I guess. Also, I thought the voltage regulator was the chrome piece on the side of the fender but as I was cleaning up the ground on...

Need help checking Alt and regulator on '73

Thanks, when I go to the garage tomorrow night I'll check it out. When I check the alternator with the meter I am assuming one lead to the black large wire and the other lead to a good ground, correct?

Need help checking Alt and regulator on '73

My '73 Duster 340 has been going dead on me lately and I am assuming it is the Alternator or voltage regulator. I first noticed the headlights getting bright and then dim and now if I drive at night it's only a matter of time before she dies. I checked a bunch of threads but didn't really find...

    Duster bumper swap

Well I actually took the front bumper off the 75 and put it in front of the 73 and it looked like their was no way it would go. Now I know the sheet metal on my 73 was replaced at one time and maybe it is 70 t0 72 parts. The grille and hood are definetly 73. Any thoughts?

    Painted bumpers?

What I did on my 73 Duster340 was painted the parts on the bumper that were in bad shape. It came out amazingly good and I have had some fun with it because when I show people they can't believe it's painted. For example lets take the front bumper which was rusty on most of the flat surface on...
